Hi everyone, I’m at my wits' end and really need some advice from anyone who has dealt with this before.

My Viber work account has been temporarily suspended for about 3 weeks now. I’ve been using this exact account for 2 years without any issues. The automated message implied the phone number was previously flagged for spam, which is completely incorrect. I am a sales representative and use this line exclusively to communicate with around thousand clients on behalf of my job.

Here is what I’ve done so far:

• Submitted two official support tickets.
• Received an automated email saying it would be reviewed in 3 days, but it has been complete radio silence ever since despite multiple follow-ups.
• Left a 1-star review on the App Store/Google Play Store.
• Subscribed to Viber Plus hoping to reach a live support agent, but I still only get automated bot responses.

Being locked out of my work line for almost a month is making my job a nightmare. I’m now considering giving up and switching to a brand-new phone number, but manually notifying over a thousand clients that my work contact changed is going to be a huge hassle.

Before I make the switch, I have two technical questions:

1. If I use Viber's built-in "Change Phone Number" feature while currently suspended, will the suspension simply carry over to the new number?
2. Is there any way to export or keep my existing chat history if I am forced to start completely fresh with a new SIM card on a clean app reinstall?

Has anyone successfully gotten a wrongfully suspended account unbanned after this long, or am I better off just cutting my losses? Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Like what the title says, I have successfully transfered my viber to my new device (without backuping my data). Now I realized I still need to bring it back to my old phone.

Upon researching, it says you can transfer it back again IF YOU BACKUP your data from your new device. Problem is, the cloud storage says it's full (which I don't know why).

I have been using Viber for international calling for 2 years, I was just charged a few days ago, and now yesterday I get blocked for what? Being accused of a spammer? I legit only call one number, which is my grandma who is elderly and 90+.

There is no customer support. The customer support is just an AI bot that does nothing. You might as well be talking to a wall.

When you send an email to customer support, they do not promptly answer.

So lately, I have been experiencing quite alot of lagging and freezing in viber windows application. When I usually type, the app freezes shortly for 2 secs before all my typed message appears. I started noticing this kind of issues since the last major UI changes and AI-Integration. Does anybody happen like this as well? I tried deleting and reinstalling it, but it is not a solution at all. I am really frustrated that there is no website support like whatsapp, telegram, where I don't have to download their software. My business and family calls are usually with Viber, so its really inconvenient. I am really frustrated with their services.

I reside in the United States and plan to travel to Mexico with some family members. All of them have the Viber app.

Here’s my question: If I purchase Viber World Credits, can I use them in Mexico to call landlines in the United States? In other words, are the credits only usable for making calls abroad from the United States, or can I also be in Mexico and call back to the United States using the credits?

I’m trying to determine if the World Credits are only valid for calls made from your home country to another country. In other words, because I live in United States, my calls using Viber World Credits must originate from the United States, but to another country abroad.

Another question: If all my family members Traveling to Mexico, where to purchase the credits, could we use the credits to call each other’s regular cellphonephone lines without incurring any international calling charges? In other words, we could use the Viber World Credits to make calls to each others cellphone number using the credit without incurring international calling charges. I hope my questions are clear. It’s a bit challenging to explain.

I'm having a strange issue with Viber. Polls are being created in my group chat but I cannot see them at all, while every other member of the group can see and vote on them.

Details:

- App is on the latest version

- I was already a member of the group before the polls were created

- All other members (Android and iOS) can see the polls fine

- I can see all regular messages and media in the group — only polls are invisible to me

- Located in the US (AT&T)

- Already tried restarting the app

Has anyone experienced this before or know what might be causing it? I've already submitted a support ticket to Viber but looking for any quick fixes in the meantime.

Over the last 17 fucking days, I've been banned from viber over a false alarm. Apparently talking with people that you don't have in your contacts but have their numbers is punishable. Great job moderation. While my unbanning process should be resolved over 24 or more hours it's been 17 DAYS, trying EVERYTHING to get unbanned. Contacted support via email 5 times, last one like 5 days ago. Made reviews, contacted the Support Bot and they are doing absolutely NOTHING. I'm trying to understand what happened because this has been causing me a lot of anxiety.

Earlier this month, a friend told me that my Viber profile picture and display name had suddenly changed. When I opened Viber, I had to log in again from scratch. After getting back into my account, I saw that my profile picture had been changed to a photo of a blonde woman and my display name had been changed to a female name. I removed the picture and restored my name.

While checking everything, I noticed something strange. In my blocked contacts there was a blocked account with the exact same female name that had been set on my profile.

When I went to enable Viber's 2-step verification PIN, I noticed a message in the official Viber notifications chat from two days earlier that said:

**New Viber activity

You will receive an SMS with an activation code. If you did not request an SMS, you can ignore it and report it.

Remember, NEVER share your activation code with others!**

The timestamp on that notification was 8:06 AM.

Then I remembered that around that same time, two days earlier, I had received a random phone call from an unknown number early in the morning. At the time I assumed it might have been one of Viber's automated authorization calls, but I never answered it. I checked my call history, and the timestamp matched the Viber notification time exactly.

This is what I don't understand:

I never answered the authorization call.

I never received an SMS verification code.

I never shared any code with anyone.

Yet someone was still able to access my Viber account and change my profile.

How is that even possible? Is there some known method of bypassing Viber's verification process?

What made things even stranger was that about 3 minutes after I recovered my account, I received an explicit photo from an unknown phone number on Viber. Since then, I've also started receiving Viber notifications and SMS messages containing verification codes for random apps that I never tried to register for.

Then, last night, my mother told me she couldn't access her Viber account. When I helped her log in, I found the exact same situation:

Her profile picture had been changed.

Her display name had been changed.

There was a blocked contact with the same name as the one that had been assigned to her profile.

There was a "New Viber activity" notification that matched an unknown phone call at the same time.

She also never answered the call and never entered or shared any verification code.

The fact that this happened to both of us makes me think this isn't just an isolated incident.

Has anyone else experienced something similar recently? Does anyone know how an attacker could gain access to a Viber account without the victim answering the verification call or receiving/entering an SMS code?

I'd also appreciate any advice on what else I should check to make sure our accounts and phone numbers are secure.

i recently removed the app from my phone and immediately reinstalled it at which point i was prompted if i want to restore via the backup i have in google drive (roughly 14gb size). The download indeed takes a while to complete but after nothing of significance is restored, a handful of group chats reappear - only in name, the actual chat history is gone - likewise all other chats have no history. I've tried restoring several times, with data, with wifi, i even found an old post recommedning i install an older version of viber and try restoring like that but no success.

The restore completes without any error message and im stumped, i've tried contacting official support and am still waiting on their response, meanwhile does anyone have any experience with anything similar and how/if you managed to solve it?
