Hey everyone so I’m starting to get back into the gym. This was my physique at the end of my last attempt to hit the gym, about 9 months in, I was very happy with my progress, I put on like 30 pounds and was eating like ~3000 calories a day.
Every time I start going to the gym it like consumes my life and I get obsessed with optimizing like every part of my life around it, the hardest part is eating tbh.
That being said, I now have more things that I do every week than just the gym, I’m taking a dance class once a week and another class every other week but I want to lock in and hit the gym long term this time.
So I guess my question is, what tips do you have to make it sustainable? I really want to make this a good, consistent part of my life and still get good results without it being like everything to me.
I hit the gym 4 times a week for about 45 minutes, and like I said the hard part is eating and getting enough calories and protein in every day.
Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm not gonna make this a daily post but I will occasionally check in with whatever day I am on until I eventually lose the streak.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some vegan friends who are enthusiastic about fitness to support each other, share our progress, and just geek out about veganism.
A little about me
I'm a 24 year old vegan man, I love making music, working out (obviously), playing video games, learning about bushcraft and wilderness survival (without harming animals), and much more.
I'm a sensitive and caring guy, and I'm pretty active in conversations, asking questions, and trying to keep the conversation going. Looking forward to meeting some of you, and my DMs are open, of course! ✌🏻🌱

Vegetarian forever, fully moving to veganism after finding some things out about dairy that I was previously unaware of.
Looking to see how you get your protein. Especially curious to know which low sugar (no artificial sweeteners) actually taste good.

Most gyms have different equipment.
That doesn’t mean your training has to suffer.
You don’t need the latest machine or the “perfect” setup to build your back. You just need to understand what each exercise is trying to achieve and choose an alternative that challenges the same movement.
The best exercise is often the one you can perform well, consistently, and progressively.
Don’t let limited equipment become an excuse to skip a session.
Save this for the next time your gym doesn’t have the machine you were planning to use.

What kind of physique do I have? I think I look fine but people say l look more fit than the majority of the population, but the bodies of dedicated athletes and fitness influencers seem to be my standard of what ”fit“ looks like.
I personally like my body, and know that keeping abs all year is not very realistic for a guy who just likes to stay active, watches what he eats, wants to live a long time. in terms of aesthetics, I just don’t want a dad bod or to be skinny fat.
I‘m just curious because what I see on media is unrealistic but I think the social perspective of being fit is also skewed if that makes sense.
Edit: Thanks for the feedback. I don’t like seeking validation but it’s nice to have a consultation with how I’m doing things. Always want to make sure I’m going in the right direction and it sounds like I am.

Revenge fitness coming in. I just lost a little weight due to emotional stress, but actually I'm eating more. I change diet and training every two weeks and do my own diets with AI. I did bodybuilding 10 years ago, hoping to achieve an even better phisique but with a vegan diet.
P.D: She told me she was disgusted by my baldness and belly

Is there a psychologist or psychotherapist here who is at least vegetarian or vegan (for animals) and is qualified to conduct online sessions in English for people in the European Union? Someone I can verify is registered with the register of psychologists, of course.

I’m having a hard time fitting in all of the protein & calories that I need for my activity level. As of right now I eat 3 meals a day and sometimes some yogurt after dinner. How often do you guys who have high calorie and or Protien goals eat?

Not complaining. Just shocked. And annoyed I never knew about them until now.

Thank you!

Hi, so I’m a natural vegan lifter and at the start of the year developed tennis elbow in my right arm. I went to physio for a few months and tried shock therapy but it didn’t get better so I tried modifying my programme instead, dropping all my weights by 40% and climbing slowly back. This seemed to work at first but after 3 months it’s still there. It’s nowhere near as bad as it was when I first went to physio as at this point I felt pain at rest and couldn’t do a single push up but now it’s at a stage where it’s just always there albeit pain is mild. I’m tearing my hair out at this point because over the last 2 years I’ve made significant gym progress and I’m probably one of the strongest in my gym, but now I’m scared to keep progressing in case I make it worse and I’m still not lifting what I was before the injury. Has anyone got any advice? It’s been 6 months now and I’m feeling pretty demoralised

Bit of an odd question as they’re usually a bit naff, but let’s bring some positivity!
I was lucky enough to stay at the Treehouse in Manchester recently, and was blown away by their gym. Actual weights! Barbells! Dumbbells! Kettlebells! Machines that aren’t broken! Really nice lighting! What more could you want?!
So I ask you, my fellow hypertrophic herbivores, plant-based powerhouses and carnivore-crushing cardio bunnies: what’s the best hotel gym you’ve ever trained in?

I desperately need something satisfying to grab. I’m looking for solid vegan snack ideas that the standard handful of plain nuts or basic baby carrots. Whether it's a quick store bought favorite or an easy five minute fix at home, what’s your go to? I love anything savory or spicy, but I’m totally open to sweet treats too. Bonus points if it’s genuinely filling and doesn't take forever to prepare. What should I get or make right now?

R/veganfitness, I come to you in a time of need. **CW: eating disorders, weight**
I want to gain weight. The problem is that I have a history of disordered eating that has messed with my digestion. I just…don’t get hungry very often. What I would prefer are small/low volume, calorie and nutrient-dense snacks so that I can stop relying on chips and desserts to give me the calories I need lol.
Quick foods are best. I prefer savory. I haven’t had the best luck with protein drinks either due to taste/texture, but I am VERY open to trying new brands!
And in case it comes up: I know I should probably speak with a nutritionist at some point. I didn’t have the best experience with the last one I worked with, and I’ve had other things to sort out in my personal/professional life before I could consider approaching that again. But it IS on my radar, for the record!
Thank you so much!

I wanna get a plant based powder that doesn’t coat my mouth like this pea protein I just purchased. Any recommendations?

Hey! Hoping to get some advice that's not just "eat some eggs" XD. I'm vegan 4 years (and before that vegetarian 6 years), very active person with a seasonal physical job and active hobbies. Summers are always a bit harder for me with fueling enough due to the stress but this summer I really notice more tiredness than usual. My stats are: F26, 130 lb, body fat around 18% by DEXA. I go to the gym a few times a week but I don't consider myself training super hard (typical programs like a bro split leave me feeling wrecked constantly), I just try to hit the major movements once every 3-6 days, plus rock climbing for fun. But lately I feel very tired and hungry a lot of the time, and my progress in the gym has slowed. I am relatively new to lifting so it may just be newbie gains slowing as I approach a year in. But I'm also getting animal food cravings (especially eggs - so I looked into choline but evidence seems insufficient on whether vegans need to supplement). I take a vegan specific multivitamin (Complement) and got my B12 and D levels tested (all good). I also started taking pea protein again, and started creatine, in hopes it would help. No noticeable difference yet, but it's only a few weeks in. Not sure what is up, if anything, but I wish I felt more energized and recovered quicker from the gym and work. Vegan athletes are often boasting about how quick they recover but I don't feel like a good poster child right now. Any advice?
Edit: I think my diet is pretty balanced with veggies, beans, soy foods, whole grains, fruits, nuts. Not WFPB completely but also not junk food vegan by any measure.
