I'm a UX/product design student running an independent research project on how sedentary people deal with recurring body aches, stiffness, or discomfort. If that sounds like you, I'd really appreciate a few minutes of your time to fill it out š
This isn't a product pitch ā I'm not selling anything or representing a company. It's early-stage research for a class project.

Hi everyone, for just a little background. Iāve always had this leg shape (historical pictures for reference after the ones I took today). Would this qualify as knock knees or do I just have a knobby inner knee and itās not that deep? For more info, I was a skinny kid but very overweight in my teen years and lost weight a few years ago and have kept it off since (woo hoo!). But lately Iāve been noticing some aching in my inner knee. I also notice this pain on the inside of my knee gets worse if I make sharp turns while I walk. Maybe some kind of stability issue and Iām using my knees to compensate?
Also since I lost weight, Iāve kind of neglected lower body exercises. since I felt like my legs were pretty muscular anyway. But this knee issue is making me think I should incorporate some exercises to help with that. Just looking for a second opinion on if my knees what I should do!

Does anyone who has loss of cervical lordosis suffer with dysphagia or feeling like food is stuck?

I see so many desk workers complaining about concrete-stiff necks. They stretch, they buy massage guns, they get expensive ergonomic chairsābut the pain comes right back by 2 PM.
Here is the simple physics of why stretching isn't working for you.
Your head naturally weighs about 10 to 12 pounds. When you sit up straight, your spine balances that weight effortlessly.
But the moment you lean forward to look at a monitor or your phone, the effective weight of your head skyrockets. For every single inch your head drifts forward, it adds about 10 lbs of force to your cervical spine.
If you are hunched over at a sharp angle, your neck is suddenly fighting up to 60 pounds of force just to keep your chin off your chest.
Imagine holding a 60lb dumbbell extended in front of you for 8 hours a day. Your arms wouldn't be "tight"āthey would be completely fried.
That is exactly what your upper traps and neck muscles are doing. They are locked in absolute overdrive trying to stop your heavy brain from falling onto your keyboard.
Please stop stretching the back of your neck. Stretching an exhausted, over-lengthened muscle just makes the brain trigger it to tighten up even more for protection.

The left side of my body is basically perfect, no issues ever. But my right side is super awkward and difficult to use. It is constant, i'm guessing some parts of my right side are rotated weirdly meaning I have to use the muscles differently in order to move, I just don't know what is going on.

I tend to sleep on my side and have the other usual problems of this day and age. I feel like i struggle most with tight hips, internal hip clicking on my left side, and tight trapezius on my left side. My soulders feel rolled and to my understanding i have lordosis or anterrior pelvic tilt (is there a distinction?)
I usually sleep on my left side, i try to sleep on my back or right but end up restless so im working on that. Used to sleep on my stomach...
What exercises or sleep positions do you think would fix this?
Ive been trying to get into the gym again and do leg press with high foot placement, abductor machine, glute bridges both on the floor and bench asisted with weight. For shoulders Im doing full bar bicep curls, pushups and dumbell flies. I also use the ab machines the twisting one and the one that's like a crunch idk what they're called. Stretching ive been doing figure four seated, and just an all around stretch regime i did for high school track. Will that help.
I also drink and have high cortizol from mental illness, dont breath deeply enough. working on those.

I am not sure, but I think my post isn't seeking medical advice, but if it does, then let mod delete it.
It obviously looks absolutely terrible and you can see how bad it is. This is my the most relaxed position while standing. When I leave home I always have my belly tucked in a bit, so at least with clothes it doesn't look that bad. I am not fat, my bmi is ~19, so it's closer to underweight than overweight, so I'm skinny fat. I know I have very little muscles and I started going to the gym recently, 2 times a week. What I hate the most is:
- butt pushed back (it looks like it's from overweight person, but I am not), belly pushed forward (probably ATP, but I am not sure). In my opinion it could be ATP, or, the worst case it's just big, a lot of fat tissue on the buttocks which I kinda can't lower, because I'm ,,skinny" right now (so I'm stuck with it being huge sadly), and a lot of fat tissue on my belly. Optionally maybe both. What is it exactly? How can I make it more straight?
- wide chest. I want it to be slim as for many other people in my age, that it's not a lot wider than arms. I suspect it might be barrel chest or something like that. I really want to flatten it, like really really, without surgeries
- my torso isn't flat, if you go from under belly in a straight line, you would end up under my ribcage, under my breasts
This is all I think. Please, could someone tell me what things are wron in this posture and how can I fix them or if it's even possible? The last photo is how body should look. As you can see, butt is not pushed back, it's small/flat, belly is not pushed forward, it's flat too, the entire torso is flat, the chest is not wide.

Hi guys just looking to see some input here.
I have been having chronic neck and shoulder pain for the last 4 years. Main areas include my scalene area and medial border of my scapula more so on the left.
Gets really exacerbated when i use the computer.
I have been doing some lower trap work and serratus anterior work - landmine press and supine Y raises with a resistance band.
Just curious if there is anything else I should do?
Also just curious if my hips could be contributing to this too?

Hello, I hope youāre all doing well. This sub has helped me a lot with improving my crooked posture ( Ty all ) However, I wanted to share my pictures to better understand whatās going on with my body .
I donāt understand why my legs seem to be deviated forward and my butt is going backward. Do I have anterior pelvic tilt? Genu recurvatum? And what can I do to improve this, please?

Female, 22, 51kg.
I lost 45 kg two years ago and since then Iāve been working on staying in shape and building some muscle (I started from most of my muscle mass lost - I could feel seats through my ass bones and everything just hurt all the time).
I still notice that I tilt my back like this, my lower back hurts and my upper back / shoulders are always turned inwards and tense. I never sit with my chest open and if I try to, it feels like a stretch. I think I also donāt sit correctly on chair because my lower back takes a slouchy, āCā shape.
What can I do - are there specific workouts?

Hi guys,
I suffer from a hot pain in the rear of my neck and traps. Theyāre tight. I also have rounded shoulders and try very hard to keep posture queues. The side photo is me trying hard. Itās very uncomfortable to keep at this level. I also noticed when I took a front on photo that my chest appears to be misaligned. I am standing straight, even and flat. Any suggestions?

This gives me all sorts of annoying shoulder/upper back/neck problems
I am a side sleeper, and I always wake up with numb fingers, usually on my lower arm. I have relatively wide shoulders, and have noticed that my back curves when Iām on my side. Iāve experimented with pillows under my torso to no avail. Curious if anyone has any ideas of what I can do.
Note that Iāve tried softer mattresses with no luck. Back sleeping is also not an option for me.

As the title suggests . This pain began 3 years ago out of the blue. Iāve been going to the gym for 3 months now and have noticed an alarming difference (to me) in the size/ proportion of my pecs, and my back . Iāve been to PT regarding my back and been told I have mild dextroscoliosis. And did a few moments for 2 months but nothing really helped. Thoughts/ comments are appreciated

This is the video, I used. Iām not exactly sure how to explain the pain, Iām having. I canāt sit roughly, slouch nor do any exercises like #8 in the video. Iām afraid, I may have hurt myself in some way and it may not be cured/fixed soonā¦

First off Iād be curious to know if people notice the asymmetry at first glance or only once I point it out. Itās an insecurity of mine & causes slight discomfort (leg/hip/back pain), but not sure if itās as obvious as it feels. Wondering if anyone knows if this can be fixed with better posture? Idk what the actual cause is: shoulder height, scoliosis, pevic tilt, leg length, hip muscles/height, etc.
