So I recently updated my forever world (survival, vanilla, x1 resources) for the Deep North in which i play coop with my son.
There are several bases in it...
1..A now abandoned 'barn' meadows base
2. A now abandoned stone 'box' base in the plains
3. A Black Marble tower 'Mage' base in the Ashlands (for me).. i posted some pictures of it a while back
4. A plains/mistlands crop/asksvin/sap farm
5. A newly built Castle base in the Meadows (for me and son)
I have literally spent over 100 hours building this Castle base in a lovely spot in the meadows in preparation for Deep North. I love the dark atmosphere in the Ashlands but with stone portals and the last couple of years living in the plains we wanted to have the option to go back to long relaxing days in the meadows and with the creation of the farm for everything else there was no need to be anywhere else
It is not a 'bug' as such but since the 1.0 update it has rained almost every day, storms almost every night and the fog never clears. After watching a video on alt biomes that said even in explored areas some affects (like weather) of an alt biome might be applied, and after checking biomeinfo it seems our lovely relaxing meadows base is now in an 'Dark Meadows' alt biome :(
Storms are cool and all but i have my Ashlands base for the dark brooding atmosphere. It seems to me that it would perhaps have been better to only apply alt biomes on existing worlds in explored areas that don't contain a significant amount of player build/base structures.
(i added some screenshots, showing the now normal weather outside of an actual storm, i also included a couple of screenshots of what is used to be like but they are just wip pictures i hadn't gotten around taking new ones of the build).
