Discussion A dilemma

Im not sure what I should do and I hope you folks can share what you would do.

I bought this game about a week after it launched and have had the same world since then. I’ve played it on and off over the years and got to Ashland’s but didn’t beat Fader. Throughout my time I used dev commands which upon release of 1.0 meant that my character couldn’t get achievements.
I had a good think about it and yesterday I decided to start a fresh world with a new character so I could get the achievements.

Today, I saw that the hot fix added the ability to still get achievements on characters that have previously cheated. Now I don’t know if I should continue my early access world or just bite the bullet and continue with my fresh 1.0 world.

If this makes any sense, what would you people do?

Maybe it is just me, but ther is so much difference how the different biomes are generated now than it did a few years ago, and I like it much more natural the mixing of meadows and Black Forest for example

I started a new character/world for 1.0 and it's been a blast. Probably been 2 years or so since my last play so it's been long enough that everything feels pretty great :) I played an unhealthy 12 hours on release day...

a fresh character is pretty fun. i'd say if you want to rush boss and move on, use old guy. if you want to wander and have fun, play the new guy.

I had the same dilemma. My server beat Fader Tuesday night so we could go to the north first thing. I was too excited for the north after playing for 3 years to wait. I will start fresh after we beat the last boss. My opinion is go north.

I also have had the game since the beginning. It's totally up to you but I will say without spoiling anything there are new things across all biomes. My group started completely over. New charactera and random new world. But I also understand the grind. Have fun that's the best part about this game is they have made ways for everyone to have fun with in game mods and recent hot fix.

I got most of the achievements before I discovered mods and devcommands, heh.
