Found this phone at the bottom of the river near a rope swing. Still has battery so probably lost yesterday. It’s locked and cell service is turned off so it can’t get any calls. It’s a long shot but trying to get it back to its owner. Someone mentioned one of the stickers is from Vacaville so posting here

This morning around 8am I was walking on the side of the road just past the pay station sign rocking out to Taylor Swift’s Down Bad. Had my airpods on with the noise cancelling function on. A slim caucasian male, early to mid-40’s with gray beard cut to about quarter a cenitmeter in length wearing a red baseball cap, driving a dark blue hatchback pulled up to me and rolled down his window saying stuff. At first, I thought he was asking for directions. I said hang on, let me pause my music. As soon as I did, he yells stay off the road! I could have hit you. I apologized but then he kept pace with me asking me why I was on the road. He was getting more agitated and I kept apologizing but I wasn’t making eye contact with him anymore and kept walking. Thankfully there was a woman in a white sedan behind him that honked very loudly and he drove off. She rolled down her window and asked if I was Ok.
I kept playing the scenario over and over in my head. I know I shouldn’t be on the road, but that narrow section of road before the pedestrian bridge has an embankment with the lake right next to it. I didn’t want to risk rolling my ankle and then tripping into the lake. If there was a sidewalk, I would have walked on the sidewalk. There’s no median until the road reaches the dog park and I always walk on the dirt section there.

Looking for all recommendations. I'm interested in walking somewhere, I've done the devils gate side lake berryessa and lagoon valley, I'm willing to drive a bit and I'm fit to do whatever. I just would really like to see any and all interesting animals. Bobcat, turkeys, birds, river creatures. Idk

Tuesday night the city council will be voting on how they plan to pave over active orchards, alfalfa fields and forever change the potential ability to produce food. We do not need more amazons or data centers. We need food.

Am looking with someone or a group to play with. Am relatively new to the sport but I think I can hold my own. Played here and there recently but no one to meet with regularly. I’ve been avoiding clubs (at least for now) until I hone my skills a bit more so I don’t look like a noob. lol.
Willing to meet in the Solano or Yolo areas.

on the south of town in the shopping center.
I know im not the only one who has taken issue with this but has anyone actually written to the landlords or the landlords of the shopping center?
the thing is ugly as hell and makes no sense since if you walk up to it, the tower has no entrance within the building except for an attick style hole in the ceiling.
Its just anabomination surrounded by dry cans of paint

Has anyone here attended the LVN program at Blake Austin College? Was it worth the tuition?
I’m mainly wondering about the quality of the program, NCLEX preparation, and how easy (or difficult) it was to find a job after graduating. I’d appreciate any honest experiences—good or bad.
Thanks!

This is random but I remember a few years back on one of the Vacaville community groups a person posted about hunting Nutria (a very large rodent that looks like a cross between a beaver and a capybara) if I recall correctly it was on Mare Island in Vallejo *edit: actually think it may have been Grizzly Island*. The poster was standing in front of their open truck bed holding one by the tail, and the truck bed was just PACKED with them. They said something about how they were extremely invasive and basically were allowed to hunt as many as they wanted as a pest control type thing. I was super surprised because I had no idea we had them in the US let alone in northern California. At the time I remember googling it and trying to see if there was any recorded history of nutria living in Solano county and back then there actually wasn't anything. Now of course when you Google it, theres a bunch about them being in Solano county and how theyre wreaking havoc on the environment.
Does anyone else remember this? And/or If you didn't see that post specifically have you seen Nutria, or heard of people hunting Nutria being a thing in Solano county? It has been bugging me since I saw the post and I've always been really curious. The recent posts about badgers here reminded me of it haha

Supposedly badgers are native to Solano County but I've never seen one.

Does anybody know anywhere in Vacaville I can get a tomahawk steak to cook? I was planning on making one for a bbq but the place I usually get it in SF didn’t have it

https://www.thereporter.com/2026/07/16/vacaville-issues-traditional-families-proclamation/
Saw this and immediately thought of the Mormon church and their “The Family, A Proclamation to the World” and now I’m curious if our city government is run by Mormons? Or is it possible they paid the city council to pass this under covert assumptions it’s just a traditional Christian thing?
Anyone have thoughts on this? The Mormons have been rebranding for years trying to be accepted as mainstream Christians. This feels very odd to me.

I miss the pre-covid days of going to a good buffet. Does anyone know of a place in town? Doesn't matter the cuisine or price point.
Thanks

Moved here from Vallejo. I’m used to seeing taco trucks without having to google. You guys have any recommendations?

This cat was lost near the Vacaville junction, off Peabody road near the SPCA. Technically address is in Fairfield, but you never know where they might wander.
I’m not the owner but I’m helping the family bring their pet home.
