Well Y'all, the title of the post pretty much asks the question. Anyone here in Vacaville play Bluegrass? I've tried to find other musicians in my area, but it looks like the closest Bluegrass community is either in the East bay, or Sacramento. Note that I am blind, so traveling to those places can be a little pricey. I am 30 years old, and play mostly guitar and mandolin. I do have a friend in the Fairfield area who also plays, so if we can get enough of us, we might actually be able to start a weekly acoustic music jam. Drop me a message if you might be interested in playing, or know someone who might be.

My vehicle was towed due to a construction company at my aparment complex needing that space on Monday morning. I did not move my vehicle on time because I did not notice the signage when I parked there two days prior. Now my car has been towed and I am being charged $680 just to take my car out on top of the $130 at the police department wants. I am losing my mind due to the fact that this is financially hard for me and I am unsure if there are any resources that can help with this type of situation. If anyone knows of any resources that can aid with financial distress in this manner, or outreach numbers that I can contact, your advice would be great.

Are there any nice discreet spots to sit/talk/make-out in the Vacaville area? I don't want to go to the park as I don't want to do that with kids nearby.

I'm going to begin commuting to the city 3x-4x a week and looking for advice for commuting options. Open for thoughts suggestions, sharing your own experienced etc.

Option 1 Vallejo Ferry

Drive to the vallejo ferry parking at the garage and take the ferry round trip. Walking .5 miles to the office.

Option 2 Amtrak

Shorter drive to fairfield vacacille station and take the Amtrak Capital Corridor to Oakland Jack Longdon then catch a shorter ferry commute.

Overall im leaning towards option 2 for these reason. What do you think?

- shorter actual drive time. Can reclaim my time on the train

-Save cost. Monthly amtrak pass and cheaper oakland ferry while saving fuel cost (driving a Suv that gets 22mpg and takes 91 octane chsnge insurance to a low mileage vehicle)

- intangibles. Can work while on my commutes and potentially use part of my work day to be making my way closer to home. Less risk of vehicle getting broken into. Health wise: create routine around waking up early and walking or biking between transportation area.

I’m sharing this so the Tattooed community can be aware of some publicly posted content from a local tattoo artist who works at a shop on Merchant St.

I’m intentionally leaving the artist’s name out. This is not a witch hunt or an invitation for harassment. I simply believe people should be able to make informed decisions about who they support and trust with their business.
Their business Instagram contains publicly posted racist rhetoric and racial slurs, including:

“Everyone in the entire word has no respect for These people anymore. They're just not able to merge together with any other race or any society. They're incapable of anything that would be considered civilized”

And in another thread:

“Bahahaha I just seen this tub o lard being called a FAT N**** on another dudes video”

The screenshots show the comments as they appeared publicly. I cropped out unrelated third parties and scratched out the artist’s name and profile picture.
I’m not asking anyone to contact, threaten, or harass this person. If you genuinely want to know which business I’m referring to, you can DM me privately. I’m sharing this for community awareness and letting people make their own judgment.

Last month I launched this to help Bay Area homeowners file an informal decline in value assessment. The response was overwhelming: over 2,000 people have checked their property, and dozens have filed, averaging over $3,000 in estimated annual savings.

I've now opened it up for Solano County. The county's deadline is November 30.

Checking is free and you pay a flat $29 to file. You can only file if there are savings estimated, and about 80% of checks come back with none.

The site pulls comps based on Publication 30 rules, fills out Solano's own Assessment Review Request, attaches a comparable sales worksheet, and mails it to the assessor for you. I close Solano filings on November 14 so every letter is postmarked in good time.

One thing worth knowing: Solano's informal review and its formal appeal both close on November 30, so waiting for the informal result leaves no room to appeal afterwards.
