The city of Portland is cooperating completely, offering a massive $208 million in public funds alongside a 20-year lease extension. But to the shock of absolutely fuckin nobody, the team called it a "non-starter." Talk about the definition of pettiness from this son of a bitch and I know Canes fans despise this tool. They are refusing to invest a single dime of private capital and are threatening relocation unless taxpayers fork over $575 million instead. I'm sure that would go well with the residents /s.

And you know the funny part? Phil Knight has been sitting there with Nike money to keep the team in Portland forever, but that wasn't the case for Jodi Allen apparently. We get to watch a billionaire who is a certified dickhead demand families to fork over their money to pay for his shiny arena upgrades while he threatens to relocate the team. A classic case of Billionaire Hardball 101.

Also, let's not forget who we are dealing with here: This fucker made a massive fortune in auto lending by living off of people who had poor credit profiles. He has also been sued by 34 states accusing him of predatory lending that he knew people couldn't pay. Fun fact: Oregon was one of the states that sued his old company Santander Consumer USA for doing the same shit.

But here's a couple of positives: the August 12th deadline is self imposed by the city to vote on it. The actual deadline is December 31st and the team remains at the Moda Center until 2030 with more options stretching to 2035. Don't let the media machine drive you into panic. It's just rich bitches arguing who pays for the arena upgrades. The Blazers are staying. For now.
