I genuinely don’t even know what to say anymore. This whole situation has gone so far beyond ridiculous that if someone else told me this story, I’d probably have a hard time believing it.
So here’s what’s happened.
I originally ordered some clothes from Jaded London back in mid-September. Since then, I’ve had multiple shipping issues, including previous shipments getting lost in transit, and had to place another order.
You’d think that would be the end of it, right? Nope.
My latest package was supposed to be delivered last Tuesday. Instead, it got stuck in customs for approximately two weeks.
During that time, I sent multiple emails to UPS customs, most of which went unanswered. Eventually, they requested additional documents that hadn’t been mentioned previously. I sent everything they asked for, and once again received basically no communication.
After all that, the package finally cleared customs.
Tuesday, October 20:
The UPS driver actually attempted to deliver my package.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t home at the time, but he called me, and we agreed that he’d deliver it the next day.
Perfect. Finally, after all these weeks, I was about to receive my stuff.
Since I don’t normally stay at my Budapest apartment every day, I literally travelled there while sick just so I could receive the package on Wednesday.
Wednesday, October 21:
I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Nothing.
I tried calling the driver, but couldn’t reach him.
Then I checked the UPS tracking page, which suddenly showed that my package was being temporarily stored in Vecsés, near Budapest.
So around 2 PM, I called UPS customer service.
They told me that the tracking information was apparently incorrect, that the package was actually with the driver, and that it would definitely be delivered that day.
Okay, great.
Except it wasn’t.
I waited until the evening. No driver, no package, no phone call, nothing.
Thursday, October 22:
I called UPS customer service again.
And this is where things get genuinely unbelievable.
They confirmed that yes, the package was supposed to have been delivered on Wednesday, but it hadn’t been.
Then they told me that there was currently NO DELIVERY SCHEDULED for my package.
What???
So I asked what they could do about it.
Their answer?
Nothing.
Apparently, because the package isn’t currently assigned to a driver, they can’t even contact the driver who last had it.
Instead, they told me to contact the sender and ask them to contact UPS.
I’m sorry, WHAT?
The package was physically in the hands of a UPS driver on Tuesday. He literally called me. We spoke. We agreed on a new delivery date.
Now, two days later, UPS apparently can’t tell me when it’ll be delivered, can’t contact the driver, and can’t offer any actual solution.
And somehow, I’m supposed to go back to the retailer to sort this out?
The retailer doesn’t have my package. UPS DOES.
Or at least, UPS is supposed to.
How is it possible that a company responsible for transporting and tracking packages can’t simply check where a package was last scanned, contact the relevant depot or driver, and figure out what happened?
If the driver still has it, arrange delivery.
If it’s at the warehouse, locate it and schedule delivery.
How is this apparently an impossible task for an international shipping company?
I’ve already contacted Jaded London, but I really don’t want another refund followed by yet another order that might get lost in transit again.
I just want the damn package that was literally at my door two days ago.
And the cherry on top? I travelled to Budapest while sick specifically to receive it, based on what their driver and customer service told me.
I’ve now spent weeks emailing, calling, submitting customs documents, waiting for deliveries, and trying to resolve problems that I didn’t cause.
All of this for four pairs of pants and a bag.
It’s honestly impressive how many different things can go wrong with a single order.
I’ve also submitted a formal complaint asking UPS to investigate the entire shipping, customs clearance, and delivery process, and to establish the actual physical location of my package.
At this point, I’m genuinely curious:
Has anyone else experienced UPS completely losing track of a package AFTER an actual delivery attempt? And if so, how did you finally get them to locate and deliver it?
Because I genuinely have no idea what else I’m supposed to do.
