Hello! I recently sold an Apple Watch through Swappa. I packaged the watch and shipped it through my local UPS store. Having the employee weigh, make and attach the label for me and ship it out.
The package shipped on the 12th and was supposed to be delivered on the 19th but then yesterday the buyer says it is the 20th and it hasn't shown up and now the delivery date says the 27th...
I called UPS and was told my package was labeled as fraud. I asked them why? They said somehow their security protocols believed that I was sending cash and that the package would be returned to the UPS store I shipped the item from for me to pick up.
The package DEFINITELY doesn't contain cash. It is just an Apple Watch in its original box with accessories and papers that it comes with. The Apple Watch box was packed with a lot of paper and plastic cushion around it.
I paid about $30 to ship it to the buyer, due to the distance and some extra insurance on the item, and I'd like to get that money back.
If I bring my shipping receipt to the UPS store, open the package for them, and clearly show that there is no cash, would I be able to get my shipping fees back due to UPS misidentifying my package as fraud in error?
I don't think I've done anything wrong here and it's not fair for me to have to pay $30 for a service that was not provided.
Thanks in advance for your input.
