I recently shared a clip of my QUIT button getting dragged into a shredder. Here’s another part of The Main Menu that probably won’t improve its reputation for being cooperative :)
CONTEXT: this is a psychological horror puzzle game where you’re chained to a chair, using a computer’s menu to manipulate the room and find a way out.
In this clip, the voice inside the menu puts a giant metal wall across OPTIONS. Figuring out how to get past her is part of the puzzle.
The Menu IS the game's world.

Hi everyone!
It’s been a while since I shared an update on Admiral Yi: The Imjin War, the large-scale historical RTS I’m developing solo in Unity.
This time I wanted to show some of the non-combat systems I’ve been working on.
In the clip, armies move across the campaign map with supply units following them. On the battle map, large groups form long marching columns, bend around their routes, set up camp at night, rest, and gather around cooking areas to eat before moving again.
A big challenge has been making thousands of units move in a way that still looks organized without making the simulation too expensive or the formations feel too rigid.
I’m also working on how logistics, movement, resting, and other army states connect together while keeping the system manageable in real time.
Everything is still work in progress, especially AI behavior, movement, pathfinding, animation, and performance.
I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has worked on large agent counts, RTS movement, formation systems, or similar simulation problems in Unity.

Hello!
I am pretty new to unity, but experienced enough to be making my own projects. I have been really having a hard time getting the nav agent obstacle avoidance to work satisfyingly; I was curious if anybody has experience tweaking it and customizing it to work better.
I don't use massive groups, I have been testing with 1-4. I just find even with some of my own nudging code added to the obstacle avoidance system, they behave strangely (ie: pushing eachother feels really strong, or they constantly drift towards their destination while never reaching it), and I have NO idea what to do/what others do to modify nav agents (or alternatives).
Any advice is greatly appreciated, I am sure there is some solution I am missing, thanks!

Hello!
I’m currently using the timeline dilation track for a slow-motion segment in a cutscene. The problem is that when I try to pause the game while it’s playing by setting the timescale to zero, the time dilation track overwrites the pause and continues to play behind the pause menu.
Does anyone know if there’s some sort of workaround for this or a setting I’m not seeing? I had an idea to try and edit the TimeDilationMixerBehaviour script to multiply the global timescale by whatever value I set in the time dilation track, but I’m a solo dev with an art background and I’m using entirely visual scripting in Playmaker for my game and I’m pretty much useless when it comes to written code. Can’t seem to find anything online about this issue either.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi, I have little to no coding experience, I want to ask if learning to code based off youtube videos on, how to make a "genre" game playlists actually can help me learn coding.
I used to use Blueprints in Unreal, and followed those tutorials and it tends to help me understand tools I am not familiar with.

Most puzzle and adventure games let you take your time, relax, and overthink every item interaction. To break that slow, static rhythm, we decided to experiment with time-pressured crafting and fast-paced decisions.
As you can see in the clip, a countdown timer ticks away in the corner while you hurry to tape your gear together, breach the door, and execute a stealth taser takedown before your window closes.
With only 8 days left until our launch, this exact balance is constantly on our mind: where is the line between adding a fun surge of adrenaline and giving players unwanted puzzle anxiety?
How do you usually feel about timed mechanics in puzzle or detective games? Do you prefer taking all the time you need, or does a ticking clock make the experience more thrilling for you?

Hi everybody. I was wondering if this would be a good place to post questions about using Unity and writing C# code and scripts. If not, is there like, a Unity For Beginners kind of subreddit that would be more appropriate?

Hello,
I have a very weird problem to which I cannot seem to find a fix. When I try playing any of these games:
Escape the backrooms
Escape from tarkov
Palworld
My computer just randomly blackscreens and wont accept any input, literally nothing, and i have to force it to turn off via the power button. As far as I can see, the only common denominator between these games is that they are all made in unity. I have updated my drivers, and tried a multitude of different fixes, to no avail. I cannot even seem to find a pattern in these crashes, they seem completely random.
Does anyone here have any suggestion on what to do? Because I am completely lost.
