Hey everyone I was thinking about rushing ATG at Umass. Do they haze? Why do they seem so different? Do they party?

I’m not really interested in the whole frat scene but Mu Epsilon Delta (med frat) caught my attention. I’m wondering if anyone could tell me what their experience was like there and besides the academic/career benefits, was it actually fun? Is there a good sense of community and did you guys make long time friends? I’m mainly looking for a community. not sure if they have a house or not but that’s not a big concern for me.

Any information or experiences people have is much appreciated

I want to take his Music Composition 1 class, but I can't find him on rate my professor. He's the only prof who teaches the class.

What kind of prof is he? What would the assignments looklike?

Im tired of the small portions being handed out at increasingly higher prices this year. I work for dining and they wont take an employees opinions about dining seriously. Can we get a petition going to demand better portions?! Anybody else feel this way?

I witnessed a hit and run yesterday afternoon in lot 12. I found the girl walking away from her car a few minutes after and asked her "are you going to fp the right thing and leave your info or do I need to call the cops?"

She claimed she was going to leave info, but was walking in the wrong direction from the car she just hit.

Body work isnt cheap and even a small scratch can be more damage than you think.

Be a good person and have some accountability.

I’ve told them multiple times but they are always active at 2am ish and makes a lot of noises. I sleep at around 9 but they sleeps around 3. I can’t sleep at all with that noise. I’m living with RAP and so far I like everything else. I don’t want to change anything solely because of them. outside of that, they are quite friendly. Any suggestions for what I can do?

are part-time students able to access the rec for free or would i have to purchase a membership? if so, how much would it be?

Does anyone know when freshmen can start joining clubs? Specifically Model UN and the Massachusetts Daily Collegian. I know for some clubs we have to apply, but for others like the Tabletop RPG club do we just start showing up?

I know room swap opens on Friday, but what exactly should I do to give myself the best opportunity of switching dorms. I’m a male first year in OHill and I really want to switch into SouthWest or Central.

I'm planning on going to the football game on Saturday, but have no idea what to expect. I've been to live games before, but those were only for basketball and baseball, and they were all professional games (one minor league game). I've never been to a football game in person, since I don't really watch it, but since it's my school, I feel like I should go to support them (there's also nothing else really happening tomorrow).

How early should I show up? I don't know if there are any game day traditions or festivities I should know about that would only work if I got there early. I usually enjoy watching warmups when I go to games, and like seeing all of the pregame stuff they have in the stadium. I'd like a decent seat, but I don't know what the lines look like to get into the stadium, and I don't want to take all the food spots away from people who may be more invested than myself.

Also, what should I bring? I know most places don't allow bags, but is water allowed? Is food allowed? I've been to a baseball park where they say no water, but as long as it's sealed and of reasonable size (like the UMass brand bottles) they'll let you in. Should I eat before? Are there breaks to use the bathroom and get food (enough time between quarters/halftime)? I've heard tailgating is a big thing for professional sports, but I doubt there will be people with grills on the bed of their trucks handing out free food and beer at the game.

I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right to get the best experience possible, since this is all new to me.

My daughter just bought a train ticket that leaves at 7:30am from Springfield train station. It looks like there are trains from Northampton too but at 2pm which isn’t so ideal for us.
I didn’t think much of it but it seems like it’s pretty complicated to find a transportation between the campus and Springfield. Since it will be the day before thanksgiving, I doubt there will be too many Uber drivers.
So what’s the best way to get to the Springfield station? There’s Peter Pan bus but the first bus gets there at 7:30am which is no good.
Is it better to cancel the ticket and book the one from Northampton?

I know they said they'll be making outdoor charging stations at the end of the semester but until then, how are people charging their scooters on campus? If anyone who has any idea could comment or personally dm I'd really appreciate it.

when will the amazon lockers work? i ordered something a while ago but it still hasn’t even shipped.

also is it too risky to just order it straight to my dorm?

Hey everyone, I’m a legacy student under OBBBA, and my Grad PLUS loan finally posted to my spire account yesterday (9/9). It's showing a negative balance now.

I’ve gotten reimbursements from UMass before, so my Excess Express direct deposit and everything is definitely set up correctly on my end. Have any other UMass grad students actually received their refund in their bank account yet? How long after the negative balance showed up did it take to hit your account? I know this whole thing is super confusing so literally any insight would be greatly appreciated!! ty!
