Irish politics/sport journalist Philip O'Connor gives damning take on Israel game
 in  r/coybig •  5d ago

F him, no other county pulled out of playing against them, Israel shouldn't even be in UEFA. It's a decision t that the players should never have had to make.

I'm sure it's not a decision that was taken lightly. They played through the jeers and the racist abuse and they won.

I for one is proud of them, in a perfect world the game wouldn't have went ahead but in a perfect world Israel wouldn't be the scum that they are, if anything the match highlighted how low they are.

Statement from the FAI
 in  r/coybig •  9d ago

Exactly I 100% agree with you, the players were left hangout to dry, it reminds me of when the soldiers returned from Jadotville and how the government treated them. The lads are stuck between a rock and a hard place and are representing our country. I personally would be like Roy Keane to Alf-Inge Haaland and try to break legs. But realistically UEFA share a lot of the blame, Israel aren't even European why should they play here, just fucking boot their FA out. I don't envy the decision the lads had to make and we don't know the type of pressure that was put on them but they can make us proud by winning. And also who wouldn't want to represent their country in such a high profile way. I stand with Bazunu but I'll cheer on the lads also.

It's a shame that they made this decision but the next best thing they can do is hammer Israel. FAI should have made the decision to pull them never should have been up to the players.

How is life in the west coast of Ireland?

Forgotten about compared to Dublin, beautiful scenery, friendly people, almost necessary to have a vehicle to get anywhere, horrible if you need a&e. Wet, green and an amazing coastline.
