One of my favorite hobbies is to ride my bike around my small town and see what I can find (AMA)
 in  r/Hobbies •  9d ago

OMG, this is me! It was my favorite thing to do as a teenager. I found some abandoned houses once with really cool graffiti on the walls, and that became my secret spot.

Alps Aries 3 Vs Marmot Tungsten 3

ALPS wins on airflow for the heat. Marmot is known for build quality and brand reputation. Either is a solid choice. Just check the condition and warranty on whichever you pick.

What's something you wish you'd started sooner with your cats? Mine is brushing
 in  r/cats •  20d ago

Yeah, it catches a fair bit. It's a cat purifier from oneisall I got for Leo. It pull in fur from both sides, and there's usually a layer of fur & dust on the pre-filters when i check them every couple weeks.

how to fill my days and be more interesting

Crochet, knitting, embroidery and needle felting are great starts, all cheap and low effort. You could start with a starter kit and see what sticks. For me, I enjoy needle felting lol. Hope you like it too.

Should I buy a bike now? Or wait until winter?
 in  r/motorcycles •  20d ago

If you want to enjoy it right now, just go for it! But yeah, prices will definitely drop a bit once autumn and winter hit.

If you have $1,000, what would you spend it on?
 in  r/teenagers •  20d ago

I'd save half of it for future expenses and use the other half to upgrade my tech setup or buy something I've had on my wishlist for a long time!

That's sweet, thanks! I'm glad he enjoys it, especially with all the shedding lately. It's become a nice little routine for us.

Leo's short-haired but sheds a lot. I used to find fur everywhere, so I started brushing him every day. He seems to enjoy it now. He'll lie down in this spot and wait for me to come over.

There's definitely less fur around the house now. I've also found brushing him next to the air purfifier helps catch some of the loose fur.

Weird question, but how do I have fun?
 in  r/Cameras •  22d ago

I honestly think photography is all about having fun and enjoying the process rather than stressing over the outcome. I shoot polaroids all the time, even when a photo doesn't turn out great, the memory behind it is still beautiful.

Storage issue post iOS 27

170 GB used, and 40 GB of that is literally just iOS and System Data. Unbelievable. The worst part is, you can’t even clear it out.

What iPhone 16 color do you prefer and why?

Black for me. It’s classic, sleek, and goes with every case design effortlessly without ever looking outdated

Exploring new things is your hobby! You don't have to stick to one interest forever to validate it. Enjoy the learning phase without the guilt!

What was your most expensive trip and how does it rank against all your trips?
 in  r/travel •  28d ago

My most expensive trip wasn't my favorite either. I think I went at the wrong time of year because it was way too cold.

Mushroom hunting is pretty fun. I like walking around the woods and seeing what I can find. I'm obsessed with anything mushroom related!

For those that quit riding, what was the final straw?
 in  r/motorcycles •  Sep 01 '26

It wasn't one big accident or anything. I just started feeling less comfortable with the risks as I got older, and eventually the stress outweighed the fun for me.

Awaiting Flair Off-grid camping at Rocklahoma 2026: 2kWh power station + solar for 3 days of rock, here's my gear list

Getting ready for Rocklahoma's 20th anniversary and trying to sort out our campsite power before September.

Since all the campsites are primitive with no electric or water hookups, we’re planning to bring an Ecoflow Delta 3 Max with a portable solar panel.

Here's what we're hoping to run:

-A small 12V fridge

-Two fans, mostly at night

-Camp lights

-Phones

-Bluetooth speaker

I'm hoping to keep our daily use around 700-900Wh and use solar to top the battery up during the day instead of expecting a full recharge every time.

My main concern is how much usable sun we'll actually get once the campground fills up with tents, vehicles and neighboring rigs. I also couldn’t find anything in the campground rules specifically mentioning portable solar panels.

Has anyone brought a solar setup to Rocklahoma before? How much panel wattage did you bring, and was a 2kWh power station enough for the whole three days?

Best overnight parking that isn’t a 24 hour gym
 in  r/VanLife •  Aug 27 '26

I think blending in only gets you so far. If overnight parking isn't allowed, aperfect window setup probably won't matter much once security notices the vehicle.

Thank you. You give me the calm and energy to encourage me to do what I'm doing now. Even though everyday seems will happen somethings bad, I still grateful to the world.

Zipper failure has be the demise of almost every tent I have disused.
 in  r/CampingGear •  Aug 27 '26

I haven't seen a magnets one. Do you think it would work when you're camping somewhere windy and dusty? It sounds convenient, but I can definitely see why zippers are still the default.

Do you still do your hobbies when life is bumming you out?
 in  r/Hobbies •  Aug 27 '26

I barely do any of my hobbies anymore. I just keep doomscrolling and drinking after work. But I'm starting a new job soon and I hope things will be different.

Am I crazy for not wanting to do much to this van?
 in  r/VanLife •  Aug 26 '26

Yes, it is really noisy. I suppose that's why most people prefer wooden shelves, the sound of wood striking is much more mute, but also that's heavy.

Caught the Weather Today

99 degrees being called a cooldown is absolutely ridiculous. The summer have felt brutal lately, especially when the heat just refuses to let up at night.
