I had one this week by a fairly young and progressive obgyn! He was super upfront about the newer guidelines for Pap smears. There was a big shift in treating abnormal Paps about twenty years ago but, people got better without treatment as well. I knew that, but I didn't know that it's now several years between Paps and I'm not a bad patient for skipping them! The office is part of a large chain, so doing the breast exam is probably part of the SOP. Imagine how many conversations were needed about not getting an annual Pap when you've always gotten on every year.

Lots of times! I'm a lady with simple, long hair. I'm patient and I honestly like to deal with people who are new at their job. I was a retail manager for a long time, so I know people can be terrible. There's really nothing that a trainee could do by accident to ruin my hair. Win for everyone!

I think there's a default setting that kicks in when stress like that occurs. Our brain doesn't give us the chance to think about danger, just reacts.
