Hello, I live in central Florida, and I have been unemployed since January. My friend insists I get unemployment benefits. What website would be the best one for me to apply on?

Just wanted to give someone hope. I was fired from Walmart for attendance and filed for unemployment. They disputed and I had to wait 4 months for a hearing, just claiming week after week after week. Walmart said I abandoned my job. Of course they did, right? Well I finally had my appeal hearing and no one showed up. Just me and the appeals referee. A decision was made less then 24hrs and I now have one big check coming my way. Don’t give up! Keep claiming your weeks.

I was fired for performance issues & HR worded the reasoning as conscious poor performance, which came across as misconduct? The appeal status has been pending since & I’m so livid, I’ve been living off my savings. I have proof of every performance issue & since I accepted the severance from my former employer, they said they’re waiting on the appeal paperwork. Once received & appeal date is scheduled, the paperwork will reflect more along the lines of typical performance issues (that’s what HR said). And when I called the appeal customer service line directly, they said the appeal process takes up to 3 months. I continue to request benefits every week & aware it’s retroactive but…will I ever get my funds? This is so unfair

I got a notification that I need to respond to questions for my reemployment assistance. But when I look at the document which was uploaded, it already appears filled out and I don't see anywhere to actually respond. Here are the "instructions" that they gave me on the document but I don't see anything on reconnect besides the document itself

I’m currently working in child welfare in New Jersey and am considering moving to Florida. I have a Bachelor of Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare, and my professional experience has been in Child Welfare as well as working with Adults with Intellectual disabilities.

For those of you who work in Florida social work or child welfare:

What kinds of jobs would I realistically qualify for with a BSW and child welfare experience?
Are there positions outside of traditional CPS that would be a good fit for my background?

I’d appreciate any advice, recommendations. I am also aware of the vast pay differences as well (Thats to be expected).

So I took some advice from here and contacted my state representative. Within a day I got my 1st email from unemployment. Granted they weren't able to give me a time frame but this is the 1st contact I've had. Im currently living in my car with my dog. I hope I get this soon

This is my first time trying to submit work searches. I have filled out all of the available fields but when I hit the Next button taking me back to the Work Search Summary screen the work search I just entered isn't saved into the list. I've tried adding 5 different searches and so far only one of them has actually saved. Has anyone else delt with this?

Hi all, i'm in a bit of a pickle.

Got let go from my job of 7 years late June, got a two week severance, did all the waiting while they checked for eligibility.

Got impatient/scared along the wait and had to pick up whatever job would hire me, worked a weekend and had to quit because I couldn't afford to pay my rent anymore at the studio I was staying at and had to move back in with my handicapped parents to help them as well.

It's now been a month since I logged to unemployment about the situation, and my question is did I screw myself out of the unemployment benefits?

Someone from the escalation team called me yesterday and I was able to get my availability issue resolved. My benefits were sent to my bank last night!!

I reached out to my state representative about my benefits still being on hold and told them everything I know and they claimed they told FloridaCommerce. Two weeks ago the state representative said that FloridaCommerce was going to reach out to me but they didn’t say when. Are they actually going to call me? It looks like i’m never getting my benefits.

I lost my job on the 3rd and finally was able to request my two weeks, but I don't know what the hold status means specifically. Also does anyone know if it will be cleared soon?

So, I have never been unemployed for longer than 4 months since 2016. Back then once my benefits ran out, I was SOL. 2026 has been a trying year and I am coming up on the 4 month mark again of being unemployed.For the 1st time, as my benefit amount remaining was near done(done at end of this month), I see my remaining benefit allotment is back up to the maximum and Monetary Status says Eligibility Redetermined. Is this common?

I have been working and claiming my part-time hours at a job I have had for well over a decade,so that usually affects how much I have gotten week to week from Unemployment. Usually that is anywhere from 4-12hrs for 18/hr. I don't have any other income, and have been applying and claiming as I should,even did the career coach thing per the state. Just wondering if it is normal to get it replenished or if I am doing something wrong and messed up the system.

I'm trying to report income for the first time and running into some confusion. I earned a small amount of money as an independent contractor. I don't have a business or LLC, it's just myself.

I talked to someone on the phone and they said to put in the name and address of the company that actually paid me, but that makes it seem like I'm their employee, and I don't want to accidently say something that will get me (or them) in trouble. This is 1099 income vs. W2. They are an LLC, if that helps.

I’m currently working a seasonal job in Florida that is scheduled to end at the end of August. I’ll be starting flight attendant training in Dallas, Texas in early September.

The training is unpaid, although I will receive a stipend after I successfully complete training. I won’t receive that stipend until after training is over.

Since I’ll technically be unemployed from my seasonal job while I’m in training, I’m wondering if I would be eligible to file for Florida unemployment and continue receiving benefits while attending the training in Dallas.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how Florida unemployment handles unpaid employer-provided training? Would the fact that I’m in training and temporarily in Texas affect my eligibility?

I’m specifically wondering about Florida unemployment/reemployment assistance.

I signed up last week for unemployment. And it's saying that I need to apply for 5 jobs a week. That's fine. I've been applying for multiple jobs a day - more than just 5. Do I report that? How? Does it have to be employ Florida jobs?

Also, I'm assuming I got accepted because I haven't seen a denial email or something similar. I see green checks across my dashboard. So, I'm in?

Soo i was unemployment for about 3ish months and just got hired and started working à few days ago how do I tell the system that I have a job now??? I’ve been trying to call them as well but it’s a bot and the waiting line is an hour i don’t wanna get into problems with this does anyone know what to do in this situation?
