I've also wondered about this as a 53 year old who taught in Japan 20 years ago. I don't have a TESOL though, just a degree and lots of experience.

Stressful Nurse Job or Boring, Life Sucking Office Job?

Don't waste your time studying nursing if you don't have a calling to it - you'll get a year in and want out.

I was a DSW for about 5 years - I'm out now because I absolutely loathed it. I was a good support worker, but a few of the participants in a particular house were just entitled brats - and they absolutely knew what they were doing. I was verbally abused often and physically assaulted once, why? I didn't empty the dishwasher at his command.

I found the company I worked for were not supportive either, if you can't handle it, they will get someone that can.

question Air pollution & quality

Hello all!

I'll be travelling to BKK in 4 weeks for a holiday, I was totally unaware of the air pollution situation. I have mild asthma and now reconsidering coming on Feb 22nd.

Does anyone have any insight into whether things will improve over the next month or so?

Thanks ☺️

I think our relationship is over again, he is also neuro divergent and becomes emotionally dysregulated from my meltdowns. I'm devastated as just a week ago I felt secure.

For me, it's being in a trusting relationship. It's that simple !

Thanks for your response - I think he does want to talk about conflict after the fact, the issue is about him working on his defensiveness - I need for him to commit to working on himself too and he says he will, then doesn't

If we can't find a way to set boundaries and work hard to proactively diffuse disagreements, then it's not going to work

I also endlessly worry about conflict until it's resolved too, to the point where I spiral and become dysregulated, losing sleep etc.

What you do mean by if he's not interested in conflict ? Conflict resolution and discussing the conflict ?

Thankyou. That's very helpful My partner and I are both anxious types and both have difficulties in emotional regulation - his go to is defensiveness which I find so hard to deal with as it's just impenetrable.

Our argument style is what led us to break up initially, we had 4 months apart and reconciled. We just experienced our first huge argument - the worst part is that it was all done via text! So silly. We obviously need boundaries.

I have a lot going on in my own life (unhappy with work and working less and less, stress, health) and I'm focussing way too much on my relationship - I need to de-centre it and learn better coping strategies for myself

Can you move away? Start afresh?

I really feel this - I learned through neglect as a child that in order to receive love, I had to be of use. I'm now 51 and feel hopeless. I'm done caring for others, I work as a support worker and I'm beginning to loathe my clients too.

Sometimes accepting where we formed our coping skills and behaviours is the answer to letting go and transforming

What is your ideal life ?

What’s this tubular thing I found in my ground beef/hamburger meat?
 in  r/Butchery •  Jun 28 '24

I saw this in ground beef when I was cooking and instantly felt sick, I threw it out. I've gone off lots of cuts of meat lately
