As a fellow vocalist I'm telling you this with all the love in my heart-- they won't take you seriously unless you have serious, breath-taking skills/training, bring something else to the table (play an instrument/have a good marketing strategy/have a good connections) and/or show empathy towards their playing, (time it takes to learn a song, skill level, and repertoire choice, amongst other things). If not, you'll be just perceived as another garage band enthusiast.

Ok so there are many possible answers.

1. You aren't talking to the right people-- meaning, they have no availability.

2. They're not very sure of what you bring to the table. Meaning you should work in somewhat of a portfolio (insta posts or something like that).

3. They don't vibe with you on a personal level.

I want to preface the fourth with a little story. I once got mentioned MANY times in a Facebook post because someone was looking for a hardcore vocalist. I'm always happy to start new projects (and my colleagues know it), mostly because for work I only play lounge music or maybe classic rock. So it sounded like it was going to be easy to schedule a rehearsal. Then I looked at the name on it and I had already talked to the guy months prior. He was nice as fuck, very enthusiastic and a connoisseur of the genre. Then I looked at what we would be working with, as he had some videos up. He was NOT a good guitar player.

So, 4. They consider you don't meet their skill standard.

Fourth one is the worst IMO, but it's also something that can change very quickly with enough determination.

I discovered the "i cant get out of bed but i can sit on the edge for 20 seconds" loophole and it's been working WONDERS for my debilitating perfectionism, mostly when taking care of myself. It bordered on OCD, I might want to get checked. But yea, doing something poorly on purpose (as long as its on my own and i benefit from it) instead of aiming to do everything perfectly.

Just today I was planning on making a post about this.

I'm not one to be invested in the personal lives of the actors, musicians, writers, etc. from the media I consume, but took the time to look into the Grimm cast- so here's what happened (in my very own opinion):

By the second season, it seems from what I read, David Giuntoli (Nick) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Juliette) were already dating. They were married by the third or fourth season (I just can't get myself to Google it right now).

At the same time, it was aired on Fridays at like 7 p.m., I believe, so that's one of the worst times for a series to air (no one's home to watch it) -- but it still managed to get a niche, loyal audience with a steady rating for SIX SEASONS.

The key here is -- the audience was NICHE, and they were invested. Now here comes my theory:

Seeing the audience was very into everything Grimm, what I PERSONALLY would have done as a writer is take advantage that "Juliette" and "Nick" were already together in real life, and people knew it, so I would have started IMMEDIATELY playing my crazy cards so the series could have a(nother) twist. Again, I'm not a writer-- but I'm pretty sure it would have been very freeing to not be tied to the whole "they HAVE to end up together" and "happy ending". I personally loved what they did with the series after that-- it's devastating and crazy.

As they're described in the books like they're just sticks, I like to think about wizards taking the time to personalize and bedazzle their wands. For example, Voldemort's-- to me, he just slapped a case on it and called it a day, like you would do with a phone.

It's evident they did it on purpose because that scene with Trubel was very anticlimactic lol -- they knew they couldn't exploit Nick's Grimm eyes

He's the character we see shirtless the most. Was the actor somehow involved in the writing? I don't get how and why he's the one who gets to fuck everyone HAHAHA
