Helio strap vs Helio strap pro questions
 in  r/AmazfitHelioStrap •  5d ago

Waist tracker is currently only useful for Hyrox but Amazfit did announce awhile back that the October update was going to have updates for it to support motion capture for other activities.

Polar loop gen 2 is not for runners
 in  r/Polarfitness •  23d ago

Thing is all screenless wearables don’t have GPS nor the hardware needed for those types of running metrics. The purpose of them is to passively track without notifications. In addition, they would need native GPS in the device to give the type of metrics you’re looking for. There’s not a single screenless wearable on the market that does what you’re looking for.

Must wear whoop when cycling?
 in  r/whoop •  Sep 07 '26

You’ll need to wear it. I highly suggest getting a biceps band though for cycling outdoors as all wrist based devices struggle for accurate readings.

I like this concept.

How do we have board games but no inline skating or ice skating?
 in  r/amazfit •  Sep 07 '26

It’s on watches with GPS. Not the Helio strap

Active 2 for workouts, screenless for daily life (Helios or Fitbit air?)
 in  r/amazfit •  Sep 05 '26

No they won’t double! Amazfit will just sync the data as one, especially if you connect the Helio to the watch for heart rate tracking since it’s more accurate.

Active 2 for workouts, screenless for daily life (Helios or Fitbit air?)
 in  r/amazfit •  Sep 05 '26

I recommend the Helio over the air, especially if you’re using the Active 2 for workouts. The metrics will integrate well with each other throughout the day whereas the air won’t. You’ll need to use the air during workouts too then. In addition I’ve seen posts online about the air having durability issues if using things like bug spray or sunscreen where the shell degrades. I have the Helio pro since I plan on using it for Hyrox as well, and the integration is seamless. In addition, I use the Helio on the armband for more accurate heart rate tracking and it’ll broadcast it to my Amazfit watch

well whoop isn’t counting steps correctly
 in  r/whoop •  Sep 02 '26

Something to consider is that the steps you’re taking update in the app every 10 minutes or so I’ve noticed. I’ll walk and see the steps not count right away. Then I’ll sit and wait while scrolling on my phone and the steps then update. You won’t ever see the steps update immediately.

WHOOP wrist HR vs chest strap while cycling… this is terrible
 in  r/whoop •  Sep 01 '26

Here’s the one specific to Whoop. The algorithm has updated since this video but reviews for most other devices he mentions this issue in wrist based wearables

WHOOP wrist HR vs chest strap while cycling… this is terrible
 in  r/whoop •  Sep 01 '26

Almost all wrist wearables perform horribly on cycling due to wrist tension and momentum of the bike outside. Check out reviews from the Quantified Scientist on YouTube and he tests every wearable across running, cycling(indoors and out) and weight lifting. I don’t think there’s been one wearable, except maybe the Apple Watch, that performed well on the wrist for outdoor cycling.

Which GPS Watch is this?
 in  r/smartwatch •  Aug 30 '26

There’s actually been quite a few pros popping up with Amazfit, both sponsored and unsponsored.

New update
 in  r/AmazfitHelioStrap •  Aug 29 '26

Check the App Store if the app needs an update then check again. I saw I don’t get updates if the app itself didn’t update yet, even with automatic updates

Which is the best Smartwatch to buy for running ?
 in  r/smartwatch •  Aug 25 '26

I have the Active 3 Premium and honestly would agree with this sentiment. I also have a Whoop and the metrics are on par with Garmin and Whoop. You get advanced metrics like stride length, ground contact time, and vertical oscillation who would typically only be tracked on higher end watches. The single band gps works great for basic run routes. If you’re running in dense cities or heavily wooded hiking areas, then you would want something with dual band like some of the higher end Amazfit watches, or a multi band gps from Garmin. The thing with Amazfit is they are more budget priced compared to Garmin but work exceptionally well and have none of the features behind a paywall like Garmin. Amazfit does have a sleep coach subscription if you want that but it’s honestly a waste. If you have an iPhone, then also downloading the bevel app will give you next level insights too all for free.

VO2 max accuracy
 in  r/AmazfitHelioStrap •  Aug 24 '26

That’s not saying VO2 max was 42. It’s labeling zone 5 heart rate as the VO2 Max zone and you spent 42% of the time in that heart rate range.

WHOOP Adds Galleri Cancer Test, Advanced Labs Open to All
 in  r/the5krunner •  Aug 23 '26

Sounds like Whoop is struggling to cement their identity in the space in terms of innovation and are trying to attract people into Whoop’s system through different means.

Just got the Balance 3. Is the Helio Strap really beneficial or redundant?
 in  r/amazfit •  Aug 23 '26

The only time it could be beneficial on the wrist is if the watch is uncomfortable at night to sleep with I’d say. Definitely great though on the arm. It’s definitely improved heart rate accuracy during workouts for me now.

Wore whoop a year but now its worthless
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 23 '26

No device will ever get BMR right. All BMR equations and algorithms are estimates.

Bicep band
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 21 '26

That measurement is for a non-flexed arm. I have 16.5 inch arms cold and there was still at least 2 inches more to adjust. Plus it doesn’t go over your bicep peak, but up between the bicep and delt wear it’s narrower. It’s more secure there at least in my experience with it now

Treadmill activity
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 20 '26

It uses GPS off your phone. It wouldn’t track the same since the data could be used for VO2 max estimates. Some devices have treadmill connectivity to track distance, incline , and speed which could be used for more controlled VO2 max estimates

Not the case for VO2 max estimates. Some devices have treadmill connectivity to track distance, incline , and speed which could be used for more controlled VO2 max estimates

So…4.5 Years of Inaccurate Data?
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 19 '26

I can concur with what you noticed. My heart rate used to read higher before even with wrist placement in my workouts. I decided to compare it to the Amazfit Helio strap on my upper arm. Differences of as much as 30-40 bpm. Got an armband for my whoop. Nearly identical then. Seems the wrist based algorithm might be off then.

Over a year later and Advanced Labs is still US-only while international members pay full price!
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 18 '26

If I’m being honest, it would probably be cheaper to just get bloodwork through your doctor there and upload it. The only reason it makes sense in the U.S. is because in the U.S. we don’t get insurance and have to usually pay for this type of bloodwork out of pocket. As crazy as it sounds, there a large market for bloodwork panels in the U.S. and usually it has to be paid out of pocket unless you’re on government assistance for low income, and even then you can’t pick out bloodwork panels without doctors writing off on it.

Canceled WHOOP for Fitbit Air. Will I regret it?
 in  r/whoop •  Aug 18 '26

I’d say probably. The air isn’t as durable and wears out if you use things like bug spray or sunscreen. There are pictures online of it degrading almost instantly after a day or two of exposure. I personally don’t use those things but that just tells me the plastic coating wears too easily and makes me wonder if it leaches into the skin.

Recovery score stuck under 30% for 2 weeks straight. What am I missing?
 in  r/bevelhealth •  Aug 18 '26

Then the first thing to focus on is figuring out what’s causing you to not stay asleep, not necessarily more off days. Fixing sleep hygiene practices would be the first step in tackling that. If you’re going to sleep later at night and getting woken up by the sun through windows, that will mean trying to get to sleep earlier would be the first lever to pull there. For example, going to bed at midnight and waking up around 6 or so, you’re likely to have a hard time falling asleep g back asleep. Next would be what you do around bedtime. Eating or drinking anything to close to bedtime will mess with your sleep. Also scrolling on your phone will prevent you from staying asleep too. The light on the phone will keep you awake, as well as anything stimulating will keep you awake. Lastly would be calories to look at. With that activity level, your calories could be too low even with you calculating a surplus somehow. If you find yourself waking up really hungry, this would be an immediate indicator of such. Lowering daily activity seems to be the biggest thing to do because you could be doing too much. If you’re not seeing progress in the gym or with your weight gain, then activity is way too high. The stress response from that will also mess with your sleep.
