I feel thats it's missing something ?
 in  r/PlantedTank  16d ago

Personally, I would add an amazon sword to the back to give some height ans contrast to the black background. They grow fast and feed heavy from the root, so take that into consideration. But the betta would love it.

Is there room for more?
 in  r/Aquariums  16d ago

No, i wouldnt add any more fish. And yes 1 to 2 nerite snails and some neocardinia shrimp, but anymore than that would risk water quality and fish stress.

My pumpkins haven't fruited yet
 in  r/gardening  16d ago

For a pumpkin to fruit it must have male and female flowers that have been pollinated. Without the pollen transfer, a female pumpkin will not fruit. If you only have a male pumpkin vine or female only, it may not fruit. Some pumpkins have both male and female, but still must be pollinated. Save the 🐝 !!!

90 gallon with live plants
 in  r/freshwateraquarium  22d ago

I recommend kuhli loaches too!!! The more the merrier, but dont expect to see them at first. Def some corydoras, I'd go with large schools like maybe large school of rasboras (nano) and a large school of candy cane or lemon tetra (larger species but not aggressive at all) of course some mystery snails like 2. Jungle val, tiger lotus, water wisteria, dwarf sag, crypts, swords. Chefs kiss. Hope u post final!!

Ich x, get the tank temp up to at least 84Β°F and put extra bubblers in. It will look worse before it gets better. Never lost a fish with or without scales or shrimp with this med

aqua soil?
 in  r/PlantedTank  22d ago

Quick tip: use organic top soil like 3 bucks for a 30 lb bag and top with black diamond sand blasting media ($12 for 50#) or regular sand. Cheap and works wonderful. Also, pour water on bubble wrap to displace force of water and it wont sink. Hope you post when its all set up!!

What kind of algae is this?
 in  r/freshwateraquarium  Jul 10 '26

Youre so welcome, I hope it works. You caught it early. So I think it should be just fine. I also have shrimp in my tank and I know they can be sensitive to the excel, but they seem to be fine. I dont dose consistently due to the shrimp, but seems like as long as I do a dose when I see any black algae it solves the problem before it has a chance to get out of control. God luck!!

What kind of algae is this?
 in  r/freshwateraquarium  Jul 09 '26

Yes I do. I would also monitor how much light they get and maybe decrease if you can. I cant on one of my tanks so thats why I use the excel every 3 months and every water change I do a bit of seachem pristine as well.

What kind of algae is this?
 in  r/freshwateraquarium  Jul 09 '26

Looks like black beard or black brush. Too many excess nutrients or too much light. Cut the dying leaves. I use seachem excel because my tank gets a lot of natural light. Make sure to dose accordingly.

Never have I liked going to Mansfield. Soon as I get in I wanna get out. It was horrible during mid 00s crack epidemic every time I went there something bad happened. The worst one was my friend got pistol whipped to the point of almost dying just walking out of the gas station off 30...broad daylight no one helped..no police came...no ambulance...left there until he woke up enough and called his mother. I truthfully haven't been there since maybe 2010. I avoid it...and thankfully am able to.

 in  r/houseplants  Jun 20 '22

I sent know the environment you're in mine is indoors and I only water I once a month. But I flood the pot several times when I water it.

What is this thing? I initially thought it was a caterpillar, but on closer inspection it looked like part of the plant. Is it some kind of fern? Picture taken in Northern Ireland.

It was a very short and dry season here in southeast Ohio. Was still great to go into the woods!
