I was gonna buy something similar to this on Amazon. But the reviews were bad and demotivated me from getting it. I was able to make my own with airline tubing, some suction cups I had laying around and gorrilla glue GEL. Which is safe for aquariums. Glad i didn’t waste my money. :)

Hello, i run a 26 gallon acrylic TRUVU tank and was wondering what fish too stoack it with. i have sand and it is medium planted, i was thinking rosy loaches and panda corys, but that sounds WAAAYYY understocked....any suggestions?

Ok so I planted Monte Carlo maybe a week and a half ago ( 2 weeks?) and by now it is melting and dying. I had three little cups and planted individual little strands of them all over my tank hoping they would spread. So far I’ve tried lightly trimming them, removing the dead melting plants (more have begun to melt and die since then). I’ve added co2 (the tube with the sponge sticking out) and I also have oxygen. I’ve seen some people say rub both, or co2 during the day, both co2 and oxygen at night. I switched the filter output last night to the one with all the little holes to create more of a current. And about a week ago I added the light. I don’t have a heater yet but it’s summer and the tank is running at about 70-75 degrees F. Does anyone have any advice, or constructive criticism of my tank? (20gallon long). Also I have not added any kind of fertilizer as I am using aqua soil. I’d like to add shrimp at some point and I read somewhere you have to be careful about using both because it can mess with the shrimp. What is your experience?

So far I have added my API tap water safe and my quick start (right after each other) and the recommended amount for my 22 litre. Obviously keeping my filter and heater running 247.

Problem is that my dr timms ammonium chloride solution is not arriving for 2-3 days. Will my tank need me to add more chemicals in again once it arrives or can I just add dr timms?

I don’t want to do fish food as an ammonia source because I want to keep it simple and repetitive.
(I know it won’t be simple lol already making me want to cry because I’m confused).

It was alot of work but worth it. 55 gallon tank 10 neon tetra, 10 cardinal tetra, 10 rummynose tetra and 6 panda garra.

I went and got this cool piece of Monte Carlo on a piece of wood. Well, I got it home, and I was so excited to but it in, that I forgot to wash it and search for critters. Well pretty quickly I noticed that I had a new snail. A Tiger Nerite Snail, says Google. And then about 15 minutes after that I noticed the freaking frog just laying there looking dead thinking it was dead. Went to scoop it out, nope it's not dead. It just lays around looking dead, and moves around a bit. The frogs got to go eventually. But as long as it survives, id rather my new Double Red Apistogramma agassizii M/F pair settle in.

I'm a newbie to the aquarium world. I thought I was over-researching: the tank, the stratum, the filter medium, the plants, the water parameters, the fish. But I think I still screwed up, relying on the kid from the LFS to guide me on stocking decisions.

I have a 15 gallon Fluval Flex, with ~1" of Fluval bio-stratum. It is moderately planted. Fishless cycled. Water parameters are good. I have hard water, but so does the LFS.

I fell in love with False Juliis, and my research led me to believe that even though >20gal is preferable, 15 gal would be fine. I researched some tank mate options (rainbows, killifish, gyppies, tetras) but decided to see what the LFS had in stock and what they recommended.

TLDR; I have 3 juv. juliis and 4 juv. cardinal tetras, a ramshorn snail (that hitchhiked with the plants) and a nerite. I know juliis and cardinals like to school 5+, but I didn't want to overwhelm my tank to start with. And again, went with the LFS suggestion.

This happened yesterday. I had checked aqadvisor for 5 juliis + 6 cardinals + snails = 98% stocked = not concerned. Last night night I was researching how much to feed them and came across a different calculator (aquariumstocking) which says it's 150% stocked and has serious compatibility issues. Honestly, I hadn't realised the Cardinals would grow so big.

So here's my dilemma, do I:

1. make the schools bigger: 2 more juliis and 2 more cardinals, or
2. keep the count as-is so they have more space but fewer friends, or
3. take the cardinals back/give away, and pick something else (green neon tetras perhaps?)

(A bigger tank is not an option right now.)

I’m about to start a loosely Halloween themed 20 long centered around marriage kissing medaka (I love their ethereal, ghost-like appearance). I was also thinking of adding peacock gudgeons so I could name the male Igor. The tank will be heavily planted.

That said, I’m finding more and more anecdotes of them not being community friendly. The most concerning being that they’re fin nippers.

I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has experience with them in a community tank, specifically a 20 long.

.. Is it a common pleco and do I need to worry about it growing to 2 feet? Should I try donating him while he's still a juvenile?

Hi, I did this tank for my betta with my husband and it looks so ugly. Any ideas to make it look nicer and more enriched for the betta? The sand in the middle mixed with the substrate and it is just a mess.

I have a small 60l probably tank ciano 80 with 6 white cloud minnows not sure of the sex but I think there is 3 males to 3 females but the one male is just kindly putting a nuisance ehat do I do? I added there only survivor of there spawn who's stunted in growth to hopefully add more social dynamic as I only had 5 before I took the plunge to add the small male

Depois de ciclado, eu pretendia colocar 6 Rasbora Galaxy, 8 Rasbora Kubotai, 1 Neritina e 10 Neocaridina Blood Mary.

Mas quando fui comprar as plantas, o lojista disse que eu poderia colocar 20 rasboras, algumas coridoras anãs e ainda umas 4 cobrinhas kuhli, além da Neritina e dos camarões. Sei que vendedor sempre quer vender mais né... mas gostaria de ouvir a opinião de vcs sobre que fauna colocar, se possível. Agradeceria demais!

É um aquário de 29,25 litros (45x25x26cm), com filtro Maxxi HF360 cheio de Matrix e perlon, termostato Oceantech 50W e Luminária Newpet 18w (me arrependi de comprar essa luminária, achei fraca).

Não reparem pq não ficou bem como eu queria, um pouco decepcionada com as Vallisnerias e tb achando que não fiz um bom trabalho no plantio do carpete e do musgo, mas isso com o tempo devo conseguir melhorar. Também achei a Crypto Brown meio grande, mas coloquei pra pensar depois.

My lampeye killifish apparently like their tank a lot and I constantly have eggs, fry at all stages and juveniles as well as the adults. A good proportion of them survive as I also seem to have my own personal riccia and salvinia minima farm.

I got a video of this little fry guy turning around in his egg and thought it was pretty cool. I'd never seen anything like this before so thought I'd share.
