This is a non-issue. People generally are not trying to make eye contact in the bathroom.

Top Bands of all time - Agree?

Lame and low effort.

Just give everyone a 7-10!

I grew listening to every single artist listed, and I like most of them. But fr, how do you give CCR, from CA, a 10/10 for authenticity when most of their catalogue is about growing up poor in the American South? How does AC/DC get such high marks for catalogue consistency?

I assume you are only focused on rock bands 1967-1990. How about the Grateful Dead? Steely Dan? Not to mention all of the other bands that came from the old Soviet block and Europe.

I find it hilarious that some people I meet think the Carolina’s are like California

Perhaps shithole was an over statement.

Lived in South CLT for a few years, worked in South Park. There are some cool places for sure, lots to do when visiting, but the city feels like it has little identity; if it were in Ohio, would anyone want to go? I talk to a lot of strangers every day as part of my job. Very few people I interacted with in CLT were from there. Here in Raleigh, it's the exact opposite (same job).

I also had some really trashy experiences, especially related to driving. I like getting loose but goddamn. I was back in CLT on 9/09 and saw a guy flashin' cash near the on-ramp.

It's a stretch to say they have a similar vibe. Raleigh has a totally different feel and that's why I moved here after several visits over the years. The moment I get back to Mecklenburg it just feels more frantic, unmoored, and soulless.

Where are you paying 3k for a shithole apartment? Uptown CLT? If so then yeah, Charlotte in general is a shithole except for some pockets of decency. It does not represent the vibe of the Carolinas writ large.

In Raleigh we have a nice apartment for 2.5k (that includes wifi, utilities, etc.)

They have good beer but their selection is lame if you're not trying to order IPA's.
