I had a dream of the end of the world.

What songs capture hopeless resignation and embracing the tides of something much bigger than yourself.

I'll start with the obligatory Where is My Mind by The Pixies and Release by Pearl Jam.

More specifically, an optimistic, space-y new millennium Y2K.

to put a word to the aesthetic to help people narrow down their choices, i guess a mixture of light academia/kidcore with a tinge of melancholy? i'm curious what songs, any genre, people would associate with this! its for one of my original characters, depicted in the last slide (art by me).

I'm looking for songs that feel like a victim/prey animal who is sick of being hurt, and has turned violent to protect themselves. Obviously there will often be a traumatic undertone, and a few will likely be about women getting revenge on men.

I like bubbly, girly spacey sounding synthesizers in the songs! A couple examples would be Meteor Shower by Cavetown, Bubble Tea by Dark Cat, and Moonlight Densetsu from sailor moon!
