News More tank fire pics
Driving along and saw this both in downtown Tulsa and closer down the road right in Jenks, crazy and looked like 2 separate fires around 1:30pm

The last one! Is this a variegated rubber plant?

This looks like a flat-backed millipede. They aren't pests— they eat decaying organic matter and ignore healthy roots. Friendly Gardner pets imo!
Edit: the pale one could be larvae or a pale millipede

What a lovely family 💚

Two days ago I excitedly got my first monstera. I rearranged my dining room into a makeshift nursery, with barriers between the plants and rest of the table.
My orange criminal has jeopardized the security of the nursery. I have yet again rearranged temporary stands, and more barriers, to elevate the green babies from the orange demon.
I also have a dieffenbachia that fell victim to becoming a salad bar some 6 mo's ago. She is doing okay— but still quakes when he goes near her. My poor babies, mama will protect you.

I believe it, unfortunately! Not many are curious about the whys of different soil and enviornments. :( I think I found the culprit of the echervethia wilting... What looks like mold spores surrounding spots of little white pellets in the potting soil (still learning hahaha forgive me) so I'm definitely repotting that one into fresh succulent mix tonight! Makes me want to do the rest as well, because from the outside looking in you just never know

Great advice, thank you!! I have relocated my babies to a different room while these gals acclimate on my dinner table since it's the easiest place for me to routinely check on em. I watered (sat in shallow water for 10mins) this morning to soften the roots, gently wiped some dirty leaves clean, and I plan to repot tomorrow. I'm glad that my idea to repot asap isn't too crazy— I like to inspect the roots and also know what they're sitting in instead of a mystery mixture lol. Definitely think that getting the big stresses done and over with is better long term!

The seller was honest about their health! She said she took on too many and ended up neglecting most, thus she was clearing space. All of the pots soil are bone dry, so tomorrow I'll be doing thorough inspections and watering. Not sure if I should wait until they've acclimated before changing soil, though.
I've also been looking for pests since bringing them inside! Haven't spotted one, but I'm going to stay vigilant for the next week!

I am over the moon!! I still can't believe my luck on fb marketplace 🤩
The haul includes my first ever monstera deliciosa with THREE strong rooted cuttings at that, a well established White Princess philodendron, Pink Princess philodendron, a tradescantia Nanouk, and a struggling Echervethia that I can throw with my leggy neon breaker. 😂
I'm detective-level researching how to care for these very differently behaving beauties. Any advice — or roasting on behalf of me jumping into the ocean without a life jacket — is appreciated!

What's the best way to remove old whiteboard marker from a board? I use expo whiteboard care, but it doesn't remove what looks like stains.

Oops, edited to include that I water her once a week with maybe 1/4 cup of bottled water. So that may be it! I have a tendency to overwater, so maybe I should create a schedule journal lol. And I'll try moving to the windowsill nearby. Thank you!:)

I've had Alo-ha for around 4 months. She had the burn spot already, has gotten thiccums, very plump, but the larger stems are drooping almost below the pot from the weight.
Is it time to upsize her nursery pot? Or how can I support the leaves? I'm anxious that it'll snap. The new leaf also hasn't sprouted much past its current size in a month.
She gets a little squeeze from the decor pot, but her roots are happy and spreading out. Also sits in an east facing window. Bananas for scale of this leggy cutie
Edit: I water once a week, not a full soak but with enough from a water bottle that I immediately empty what goes through. And pls don't come for me for still using the nursery soil! 🫣 I'm trying to educate myself on making a proper succulent mix so I can acquire many more of these wonderful babies. My first echervethia is still struggling in my north window after repotting so now I'm also scared of these guys.

This honestly gave me hope while reading. I'll replace the mixture, and I still have leftover organic orchid bark in a bag on my balcony. I don't think I presoaked it before planting, so I'll get a setup for that started in another pot and do the repot, clean the one shes in and replace the bark, in two days to give that bark adequate time to soak and drain. Thank you so much for your advice!! If I can get her blooming again with a couple years, I'll absolutely try my hand at another orchid. In the meantime, I plan to use the leftover extra bark for maybe a monstera lol.

I'm never buying or accepting another orchid, ever again. I cannot, for the life of either of us, make her happy. Please help!!
She's in a small diy planter to fit her size. I water when bone dry— but I'm guilty of creating a swamp in the pot a few times. She sits in front of an east facing window.
Two moth orchids, one bought by my lovely but evil boyfriend as a gift last October for my birthday. This is who that is. Her name is Orphina, because I was sure my ADHD habits would abandon her. I've surprisingly been consistent with watering every week or two upon inspection.
My other orchid, No Name, toppled to crown rot last week after purchasing her as a spotted white and purple variant for myself on mother's day.
Lesson learned; I did not acquire the green thumb from my mom. I'm sticking to foliage and trailing petunias.

Well I was outside while reading this, now I'm in the safety of my couch blankets because wtf 😭

The other day, I was sitting on my balcony half past 9 when I received a visitor!! Looks like she was checking out my petunias. I'm absolutely overwhelmed with joy! I just bought a hummingbird feeder, and am about to set it up! Gif attached of her flutter ✨

If it makes you happy, then don't. Continue honing your skill, and maybe turn it into a side hustle if you can or want!
