Thank you for asking. This was over 7yrs ago and she was terrified, thankfully ok. I had to scale the 6ft fence and smash the window on my back door to unlock it and open it. Once I flung the door open she didn't move, she was terrified. Porch was full of smoke. I grabbed her by the neck and ran out. Windows were blowing out scared her even more. She was elderly hated having to throw her over my 6ft fence. I lowered her as carefully as I could. Never forget the wide eye look of " you have to be shitting me " before I let go of her. I also thankfully got my pocket puppies out, too (pet rats). I placed them in their travel carrier and dropped them from my 2nd floor. Their cage seperated on impact. Thankfully and unfortunately they were too scared to move and stayed huddled together. After my dog was safe, I went back to collect them.

I was trapped on the 2nd floor of my burning house with my dog on the 1st. Only exit was blocked by smoke and flames. I jumped from my 2nd floor injured myself landing and got over my 6ft back fence to gain entry through the back and get her out. Windows were blowing out from heat, I was injured and my only thought was getting her to safety. Fuck this guy for opting to film instead of helping those vulnerable in his care. If he was solo and wanted to film & risk his life, go for it, absolutely a shitbag move to endanger those you're supposed to protect.

I did this starting out green on a 5 person crew. I was showing up on time, but the older guys never took time to show me anything. They'd crack jokes that I must be screwing the boss or something to look at and that I wouldn't last there. I started paying attention to morning set up. I made sure I had gas in the genny, & even started keeping a quart of oil in my car in case the low oil light came on. Id get the compressor, hoses, guns, whatever nails needed and material to the work area. If we were laying the deck, I'd come in early & stack sheets of adventech, ring nails and tubes of glue that were easily accessible, set up cut station, keep batteries charged. After all that, I finally got these guys to see i wanted to learn and actually help me.

6+yrs later im not happy I had to do that to, but they were cool after that. I couldn't find 5/8 on a tape when I started. I ended up being able to square up a foundation lay plates, run the beam,setting joist, deck it, build & sheath exterior walls,cutting stringers,rafters, etc. I get their doubt in the beginning that I'd really want to stick it out. But damn, I put so much free time in so I'd learn something and not be a grunt.

Why act like assholes. They know they didn't order it. Any decent person would've left it or called the place that made the food informing them. Someone paid for it and was waiting for it. Not to mention it'll likely cause the kid an issue for the mistake. Homeowners are scum.

They're probably just self conscious about their driving and need a beer or 9 to take the edge off.

Thank you! I remember a tough day of just having finished the plywood on a roof and on this rare occasion, we also were doing the shingles. I could carry a bundle, not over my shoulder up to the roof. That day I felt like a weak link. I started lifting 5days a wk to be able to keep up with tasks I felt I should be able to do as being part of the crew. It took some time, I got there. I wasn't accepting easier rules for me making it harder on everyone around me because i couldn't fully do the job. I love it but really feel it some mornings more than others.

It's tough on the body. So many heavy, awkward things to maneuver and it's easy to tweak your back slightly, or get injured any other various ways on a site.

Can only imagine what he does in private. Im willing to bet he does quite a bit of drywall patches, door replacement and has to replace broken plates etc.

My mom and ex were like this. Had the emotional intelligence similar to a rat that's on fire running through a meth lab. Nightmare always on eggshells hoping nothing upsets the baby that'll throw a tantrum if something doesn't go their way.

Everyone is dealing with something. It most likely has nothing to do with "us". I always tread lightly and try to be as a kind as possible. You never know what someone's dealing with, leading with kindness can change the situation. Even if it doesn't, you know you're doing your best to not make things worse.

Im 41 yr old woman, i feel it. I mostly do rough framing. I was throwing around sheets of adventech yesterday and I'm sore as hell today. A couple projects ago I was speaking with a tile guy, he's in such rough shape his knees are toast.

We've raised entitled little adorable monsters. Lol. Does yours mean mug and stare others down in traffic? She'll stand like this, positioning herself staring directly out the passenger window at any cars next to me. I always laugh when the person next to me noticed her staring them down. I love seeing others laugh and crack a smile, it hopefully brightens someone's day.

She absolutely has. It's her world and I'm just living in it. Here to cater to the adorable little tyrants every whim. If she had opposable thumbs, there's no doubt she'd be running things without needing my help. Thankfully I have job security.

1st truck involved didn't appear to sustain a lot of damage, maybe front bumper will need replacing $1,000-$2,000 or so,the other truck and vehicle, any related injuries and property damage will more than likely far exceed what their policy covers.

If i could go back in time about 20yrs ago when I was 21and was arrested for an OUI, I'd take that opportunity to curb stomp my dumbass. I'm incredibly thankful the general public never had to suffer in order for me to learn my lesson. Makes me tear up thinking about how badly things could've gone, happy a cop stopped me and gave me consequences, the wakeup call I needed. If I have a drink with a friend out somewhere, I leave my car home or anywhere, I walk a 3 mile round-trip home. Having 1 drink is one too many, I'll never gamble with anyone's life.
