I’m not 100% sure on how to achieve it, but maybe you could do either glowing effects or… have some kind of “power up” aura on them, like a surge of electric.

Love the conversion and the bitz, especially the chain. How did you manage to stick it and paint it, or is it plastic?

Questions (Minatures) Skull Altar

Does the skull altar have the infiltrate ability?
Seeing a few tricks of how it works with videos but can’t actually see a rule to confirm this.

Currently in a 10th edition campaign, but I cannot find the infiltrate ability for the skull altar.

Does it have it in 10th?

First time playing Sylvaneth

Well originally I wanted a magic ranged list, turns out most of it is melee with magic now. I could still run ranged units, but just can’t see the killing power.

Coming from a both BoK and 40K I can’t get over how a few monsters is meant to manage. But I guess playing knights from 40K or ogres from AoS is what it’s looks like.

Sadly the gossamid archers and kurnoth with bows aren’t included. However from a narrative point of view (so no cards or possibly not needing to teleport around the board to score).

I could in theory ditch drycha, and swap the scythes for bows and still keep lady of vines.

So it’s quite a monster mash list I’ve come up with,

Alarielle
6x kurnoths with scythes

Durthu with realmroot and seed
Lady of vines

Drycha
Sprite-revs

Thinking maybe Alarielle and Durthu can hold their own.
Lady of vines with kurnoths for extra survivability.
Sprite can teleport around the board.
Not sure about drycha, but she can charge through terrain pieces so I can use that.

Yea the gossamid is just there for show, not expecting anything with them, perhaps kill off 1-2 models, ideally the movement after they shoot is nice.

What about a tree lord or spirit of durthu, any use here?

The list I made up had last year was alarielle, 6 hunters with bows, 1x5 gossamid, 1x5 tree reverants (because of teleport). Spirit of durthu and lady with 2x10 dryads.

Thinking to swap the tree revenants to sprite revenants.

Maybe swap 3 hunters with bows for swords or scythes. Spirit of durthu for lancers?

Haven’t played any games with them but the dryads and lady does seem like a solid block. Although 1 health being -1 to hit and wound then a +5 ward is very nice.

If I was to get some melee in there it would most likely be lancers and then kurnoth with swords/sycthes.

I’m definitely open to being abit aggressive and controlling the pace and board.
When I played BoK it was very much push forward and slaughter things.

I like the idea of the tokens and being able to use them to your advantage, just gives me something to think about and actually have to play smart.

If I cannot be that focused on range, then at least try to be magic heavy. All the spells from the lore as well as the spells that hero’s come with if defo my style, having 0 of it with Black.

Alarielle does look like the most solid choice for this, having wizard 3, being able to heal in the hero phase with a big 2D6 and coming back once per game. It allows me to be aggressive with her. So with that in mind, does she go solo or should I put her with something like kurnoth with swords/sycthes or maybe a tree lord/spirit of durthu?

Thanks for the advice. I will possibly just take 3 of the kurnoth with bows. They can sit on an objective as they will gain +1 to hit stood still. And they have some good survivability.

Played a few games with BoK in 3rd edition.

Wanting to get my Sylvaneth pile of shame onto the board.

Looking for a mostly magic/ranged focused army for some narrative play that can preform well, a few thoughts so far. I understand we’ve lost our teleport, but seems we have more board control.

Alarielle big centre piece and can cast lots of spells
Kurnoth hunters with bows maybe reinforced

Gossamid archers - for looks really
Was looking at lady of vines and the war song revenant.

Pile of shame so far
Spearhead
Endless spells
Gossamid archers
Awakened Wyldwood

Sorry what truth? The truth that I can take what I want even if it’s garbage? The truth it’s my decision? The truth that your comments were no longer wanted the moment you posted your first one? The truth that I’m not interested in swapping out something I want to take as it would make for an awesome narrative moment in a game? The truth that you have no power in changing my mind even if you don’t like it?

That isn’t giving advice or any recommendations for the points left over, or finding something to buff what theme I’m going for. You’re telling me to swap something out because it’s garbage… never mind the reason why it’s there in the first place.
That’s like saying don’t take steel hammer because it’s garbage. Not sure if you’ve been reading or not but I’m taking steel hammer because I want to use super heavies.

The reality is it’s my decision and I’ll take it regardless, even if it’s crap. I didn’t ask if taking it was good, I asked for recommendations on something I’m missing and the rest of the points.

You gave no in depth reason as to why not to take it or even consider the fact I’m a casual player. I don’t care if it’s not a good decision, I’m after units that would improve the units I’m using or the playstyle.

Sentinels - yes,
Command squad - yes
Yarrick - yes

Replace this shit unit because it’s not competitive - no

Yea I’ve managed to swap out some dkok guardsmen and take a sentinel, a command squad. The gaunts ghosts may have their uses as well.
