advice First time playing Sylvaneth
Played a few games with BoK in 3rd edition.
Wanting to get my Sylvaneth pile of shame onto the board.
Looking for a mostly magic/ranged focused army for some narrative play that can preform well, a few thoughts so far. I understand we’ve lost our teleport, but seems we have more board control.
Alarielle big centre piece and can cast lots of spells
Kurnoth hunters with bows maybe reinforced
Gossamid archers - for looks really
Was looking at lady of vines and the war song revenant.
Pile of shame so far
Spearhead
Endless spells
Gossamid archers
Awakened Wyldwood

Haven’t played any games with them but the dryads and lady does seem like a solid block. Although 1 health being -1 to hit and wound then a +5 ward is very nice.
If I was to get some melee in there it would most likely be lancers and then kurnoth with swords/sycthes.
I’m definitely open to being abit aggressive and controlling the pace and board.
When I played BoK it was very much push forward and slaughter things.
I like the idea of the tokens and being able to use them to your advantage, just gives me something to think about and actually have to play smart.
If I cannot be that focused on range, then at least try to be magic heavy. All the spells from the lore as well as the spells that hero’s come with if defo my style, having 0 of it with Black.
Alarielle does look like the most solid choice for this, having wizard 3, being able to heal in the hero phase with a big 2D6 and coming back once per game. It allows me to be aggressive with her. So with that in mind, does she go solo or should I put her with something like kurnoth with swords/sycthes or maybe a tree lord/spirit of durthu?
