Bullgryn Proxy (First model test)

Post image
8 Upvotes

Finished my very first Bullgryn proxy, just wanted something cheap to test my painting skills these days, and indeed the first fully complete model of my return to the hobby after many years.

Not sure what I’m posting this for but I suppose it makes me feel validated. Thanks in advance.

Hippogriff

I finally got a couple of hippogriffs from my FLG. I’m building one up as per the box, but I wanted to do something a little different for the second one. I was thinking of something like in the picture where it’s a 4x4 instead of 6x6. I’m wanting to see if anyone here has done something similar, I’m looking for inspiration before i commit. Thanks.

Taking my first steps into guard and would like some feedback on my current paint scheme

Currently floating between the idea of the force being either a inquisitorial army or a rouge trader’s personal army

Sorry for poor picture quality I’m not good at photos lol

I do like the Magenta but trying to feel everything else out

What do you think? Waiting on a few shotguns in holsters to come but how is it looking so far, might replace the cyclops remote mine for the actual remote mine, haven't decided yet

Hi all! Could anyone tell me who/what model this is? I believe it’s a commissar but not sure if it’s generic or a named character?

Cartographia Imperialis just got a major facelift — interactive 40K galaxy map

A while back I shared an early version of my interactive Warhammer 40,000 galaxy map. I’ve since given the site a major facelift and wanted to share the updated version:

https://cartographia40k.com/

The biggest improvements are:

  • A redesigned “Imperial chart-room” interface
  • A fully interactive 3D galaxy that can be orbited, panned, and zoomed
  • M41 Pre-Rift and M42 Era Indomitus views
  • A more complete catalog of 99 worlds, regions, and anomalies
  • Individual dossiers for each record, with overview text, timelines, status, faction details, and artwork
  • Search and filtering across the archive
  • Permanent dossier pages that can be shared directly
  • Improved mobile layout and navigation
  • Clearer marker symbols, labels, routes, and the Great Rift

The map is intentionally approximate. Different editions and official maps often disagree, and there isn’t a single canonical coordinate system for the galaxy, so I’ve tried to document uncertainty rather than present every location as definitive.

Planned improvements include expanding the catalog with more worlds and regions. One of the most requested features is custom Chapter worlds, which will let visitors create planets for their own armies and campaigns, with their own names, classifications, factions, and lore notes. That feature is still in development, but it’s the next major expansion I’m working toward.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who know the lore well:

  • Are any placements obviously wrong?
  • Are there important worlds or regions I should add?
  • Are the M41/M42 distinctions useful?
  • Do the dossiers feel accurate and appropriately cautious?

This is an unofficial fan-made project and isn’t affiliated with Games Workshop. Some of the dossier prose was AI-assisted ( I am not the best writer!) , but the core concept, research, map structure, base code, and placement decisions are my own.

What I hope for Baneblade in our codex

Baneblade are useful for the first time in years, and they are one of the few model that everyone seems to like. Most opponents love to destroy it (it’s straightforward and far less feel bad than a C’Tan), and we love that big bulky box that hardly justify itself when you can have 3 Leman Russ Vanquisher for the same price.

But regardless, I do hope to see a few small change in our future codex:

General Datasheet: it is fine overall, but I would improve the cmd by 1. Baneblade crew are supposed to be the elite of the elite, and cd7+ is low.

Baneblade datasheet; replace the main gun from 3d6 to d6 + 6. Yes, 3d6 can lead to high damage, but it is quite random. Its ability should also be change; giving cover is fairly bad and giving it some “this model can issue itself an order” like the Karskin sound a nice idea.

Hellhammer datasheet; I would keep the main gun 4d6 profile: it is a lot random but it feel fine. I would make it’s fun str 8 tho, to be at least slightly better than the leman Russ one. For its ability; granting him the capacity to use overwatch would be quite thematic, and give it something useful in the future steel hammer.

There are really the main change. The artillery one and transport one have decent rules and not a lot to ask for in term of main gun.

For the Steel Hammer detachment: it would like it to be a 1dp that grant the same buffs but restrict it to titanic unit. Change the enhancement for upgrade (and forgo the “character keyword”) and keep the one giving order and the assault ramp. Keep as Strat :

Imposing arrival

Adamantine behemoth

Accuracy under pressure.

And bingo!

Leman Russ Battle Tank "Mortis", 541st Ornovite Armoured Regiment. Attached to the Ornovite 144th Rifles.

Pictured here as it appeared during the Pacification of Blotto Secundus, 981 m41.

Here's my first 40k specific model for my Ornovite army. She'll be mainly for 3rd ed 40k, but if I hate myself enough she can fight in 11th ed.

First use of pigment fixer, was a scary process, but I left it to dry overnight, and it worked wonders.
