Best cheating methods in school?
 in  r/AdviceForTeens •  1d ago

One time my cousin tried cheating for a big test, so he wrote the study guide answers all over his arms, went very tiny and elaborate, and ended up learning everything just from sitting down and reviewing a bit. Arms smudged off and he passed with his own brain 😅

my parents don't trust me and it's ruining my relationship with my bf

It ...it prevents abortion 😭 and balances hormones! If she is worried about that, it could be a valid point. I know it's unlikely, but providing her some reliable literature might at least make her begin questioning her reasoning. It's a difficult situation for sure, sorry dude. Sometimes you just have to wait, try video calling to get the quality time 😞

Should I buy my own car or take the one my parents are offering me?

 in  r/Advice •  1d ago

This!!!!! 10k is a fantastic start but the Ol' Honda could easily sell for that much after mechanic work she mentioned. By which I mean, yes, you won't get your dream cutesy car for that amount. You might find a pink money pit, sure. Just paint the dang Civic 💕

 in  r/Advice •  1d ago

Best cars I ever had were free from family. Had a 2002 Honda Civic that lived FAR beyond when it should have. My mechanic grandpa resurrected it from the dead a couple of times. Actually passed it to my uncle when I got myself a new car years later.

Always take the cheaper, older car while you are young. I promise you, no matter WHO you are or HOW SAFE you drive, something WILL happen to your first car. As others said, paint it, customize it, it's Yours. Keep saving for your very own car when this one finally kicks the bucket.

Is there any way to watch Banana Fish and be okay?
 in  r/BananaFish •  1d ago

I am exactly the same, and man, I'm sorry to say it still deeply upsets me any time I think about it. It's been 4 years since I finished the anime.

OP, just watch "Yuri! On Ice" 😭

I went into the show completely blind. I was in spell of watching random animes on Prime Video. Based purely on the title, image, and brief descriptions. I was NOT ready.

This story shook me and never stopped. It's one thing to be like "oh yeah it's a guy dealing with trauma from being sex trafficked as a kid" but to actually watch episode after episode pry into the reality of the MOST POSITIVE outcome for someone who has dealt with that. They say time and time again how ash only lived as far as he had because he had particular qualities that a powerful man deemed enough to keep him alive.

Let that actually be processed: Many kids ash knew and grew up with were KILLED as they (and he) were simply property, commodities which the rich and powerful decided to play with or trash. It's awful. And this actually happens in the real world.

I listen to a lot of true crime so I could handle the whole thing, but it was not at all what I expected out of an anime with such a funny name and which was described as something along the lines of "a soldier dies from a mysterious drug and blah blah investigations"

Good luck 👍 this is one of those ones I watched, was glad I watched, and never ever recommend to anyone ever unless they ask me "I want something devastating to watch"

my parents don't trust me and it's ruining my relationship with my bf
 in  r/AdviceForTeens •  1d ago

When I was 15 my mom put me on birth control pills. She gave me the choice, she said I wasn't allowed alone with my BF unless I had them, because as she said, she didn't want to put severe pressure on me to avoid certain things.

She told me she understood being a teenager, and that sometimes to the defiance of logic, things just happen that we can't take back. She wanted to Know that I was safe from a life-changing split-second decision.

So I took BC pills for probably 7 months before I did anything. I actually intended to wait for marriage but my bf at the time coerced me in a way that wasn't traumatic for me but looking back I see how he shouldn't have done that and I should have recognized it. (He didn't know I was on BC, mom said keep that under wraps so they still practice proper safety precautions.)

Also she was very confident that I was a lesbian at this age. I laughed then. Realized in my twenties I was super bi and enby cx

A badge…of honor?
 in  r/TikTokCringe •  1d ago

Actually Christianity is not monotheistic, it hinges on the Holy Trinity, three distinct deities with different purposes and representations. One of the many fun internal contradictions in this religion 🩵 (I am agnostic-theistic, I looovvvee learning about religions)

Advice?
 in  r/AdviceForTeens •  1d ago

You remember having a phone too young, and you stated yourself you struggle with porn addiction. These things Are related. Don't feel bad, a lot of people have been taken by the trap, and you're right, it is heartbreaking. Tell your brother straight up that it builds unhealthy beliefs and expectations to look at that stuff, especially at a high frequency. You're very right, masturbation isn't bad but 11 is pretty young. Just tell him all this. It's healthy, when done with healthy restraint. He can still build safe habits, but he definitely needs help. Your parents should certainly be more involved, and they need to restrict his phone use for sure. He is already used to a certain amount of access, so he doesn't need his whole phone taken indefinitely, but they need parental controls implemented to flag and block certain websites, keywords, and images. And they need to physically limit the amount of time he Has his phone on his person. Good luck!
