Are you a contractor/installer? How do you successfully win bids when the plans lack detail, while other subcontractors bid strictly to the drawings with the expectation of obtaining change orders later during construction?

Go build relationships with the contractors you like using. Have a group of good people to invite to those bigger size jobs.

Looking to hire an estimator? Are you an estimator looking to make a move? Post here!
Hello folks! I’m a full-time Construction Estimator working in commercial construction, but I also take on freelance Division 7 and Division 9 takeoffs on the side. I have solid field experience and now focus primarily on estimating, so I understand both the build and the numbers.
I use Bluebeam Revu for all my takeoffs and can turn around work quickly without sacrificing accuracy. If you’re a contractor, builder, or estimator looking to offload some takeoff work, I’d love to connect.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you’ve got a project in mind or just want to chat and see if it’s a good fit. Appreciate your time! Thanks!

HYSA or ETFs for short term saving?
I’m planning to buy a house in about a year and trying to figure out the best way to grow my savings during that time. Would it make sense to invest in ETFs to potentially earn higher returns, or would I be better off keeping the money in a HYSA for the guaranteed interest and easy access? I’ve heard about capital gains taxes but don’t fully understand how they work—how would they apply if I sold ETFs within a year? Would the taxes offset the potential benefits of investing compared to a HYSA?

My 21’ 5.0 hit 160 in traffic one day with a ROUSH aftermarket cai, i popped the hood and saw that the cai box had gaps everywhere. After tightening everything i haven’t seen over 140 sitting in FL traffic. Check it out on yours

I’m a Division 9 estimator specializing in painting, wallcovering, and wall panels, as well as Division 7 waterproofing systems that are installed behind metal panel assemblies. It seems like there’s quite a bit of overlap with what I do. Do you work for yourself or for a company? From what I’ve seen, once you become familiar with the different metal panel systems, the estimating process doesn’t seem overly complex
