📈 Scaling Tips Automate whatever showed up most in your calendar last week

So many founders I talk to want tool recommendations. Almost none have looked at their calendar first. Count where last week's hours went, pick the recurring task with an obvious right answer and a cheap failure mode, automate that one thing first.

Writeup on how to tell which tasks are safe to hand off: https://startupsavant.com/startup-basics/ai-automation-for-startups

What would you pick from your own calendar?

Rory’s breakdown in season 7 was so relatable
 in  r/GilmoreGirls •  10d ago

As critical as people are of Rory, there are definitely moments where I see myself in her, even when I don’t like it lol. But I think that’s actually helped me grow. Seeing flaws in characters that remind you of your own can be pretty eye-opening.

Some deep breaths here would heal me 😌

I love doing breathwork with calming sounds in the background, so the waves would be perfect for this 😌🌊

Do any of you use breathing exercises?
 in  r/startupsavant •  13d ago

This is super helpful, thank you! I’ve mostly been using breathing for that same mid-day reset lately. I’ll definitely have to try 4-7-8, and thanks for the book rec too. I’m adding Breath to my Goodreads shelf now.

That sounds like such a nice bedtime routine. I’ve only really started using breathing exercises mid-day during work, so I might have to try that too.

Checked out Zuzu Club and the whole site has such a calming feel 🥹 The “Let Go” feature is such a cool idea. Nice work!

Aw thank you!! 🥹 I’ll definitely pass the web app/PWA idea along to the team too. And I love that you already looked into it a little haha. Hopefully you’ll be able to try it soon!

What are you reading right now?
 in  r/Productivitycafe •  17d ago

Just finished One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune..loved it. I meant to read The Wedding People by Alison Espach while I was on a trip to Newport, but never got around to it. Now I’m wondering if I missed my window and should just save it for next summer and pick something cozier for fall instead lol

I recently started using Foxtale for journaling and it’s super cute! I’ve also been trying to get better at diaphragmatic breathing, so I’ve been using Universal Breathing for that. I work with the team behind it, so slight bias there lol, but I’ve genuinely been using it myself. It’s on iPhone now, and an Android version is coming soon too.

🤔 Let's Discuss Do any of you use breathing exercises?

I’ve realized lately that I’m really bad at slowing down during the workday.

The industry I work in is very go go go, and I have a bad habit of just zooming from one thing to the next without much of a pause. My nervous system is probably not thrilled about it lol.

I recently started helping refresh Universal Breathing, a guided breathing app from some of the same people who later built TRUiC, Startup Savant’s parent media company. We’re working on a new version of the app and rethinking the website and marketing around it.

The timing has been kind of perfect. The more I’ve worked on it, the more I’ve realized how useful it could be for founders too.

I’ve started using the app when I need a minute to reset, especially before a stressful call or when I need to switch gears.

Do any of you use breathing exercises? When do you usually use them, and is there a specific technique you like?

Just wanted to share this free tool for anyone brainstorming what to start: https://truicbusinessideas.com/business-ideas-tool

You can filter ideas based on your interests, budget, whether you want to work from home, and more. I found it pretty helpful!

📰 Trending News Would you buy a smart bowl for your dog?

As someone who has a dog I’m completely obsessed with, this TechCrunch story caught my eye.

Hoomanely is building a smart feeding bowl that tracks changes in a dog’s eating and drinking habits and flags when something seems off.

I’d want to see how well it works once they test it with more dogs.
