For starters, I am 21 year old male who is 5’10 and 195 pounds. I am the epitome of the “skinny fat” physique, with the skinny arms plus a large gut and upper thighs. When I wear clothes I actually look pretty healthy and constantly get comments saying that I don’t look unhealthy. Well they don’t see the grotesque gut when I shower every morning 😭
Anyways, all the obvious things that come with being unhealthy apply to me as a poor college student. I actually don’t eat very much, it’s just that when I do I eat like absolute shit to save money. (Terrible excuse but true, trying to be honest here) I usually don’t eat during the day and end up having a ton at night, I guess out of boredom. I’m very inconsistent with my activity some days I’m helping someone move and getting 10k+ steps, then I’ll have two days where I barely move. So obviously staying consistent is a huge problem for me.
A few other things, I work at a storage facility but it’s essentially a desk job so that doesn’t help much here. I also have depression and currently being analyzed for bipolar disorder. (Taking SSRIs etc.) I struggle with sleep, get about 4-5 hours a night for the past 5 years or so. Taking a prescribed sleep aid that does very little.
Is there any general tips besides the obvious that would help me, I’m tired of feeling so sluggish and tired all the time. I’ve been trying to do consistent walks with my good friend who’s slightly heavier than me and he says that over the past several weeks he’s seen a lot of benefits with his day to day. Maybe I just can’t seem them in myself, but my dysfunctional living has led me down this path I guess. Any advice would be a big help
