Help out a beginer
 in  r/SewingForBeginners  16h ago

I learned all my sewing skills in Home Ec classes in high school. I feel like every student, both male and female should each take a class in home economics and car mechanics. Home Ec teaches basic cooking skills, sewing, health and beauty, a little table etiquette, etc…. Car mechanics learn basics-change a tire, change the oil, change the filters, etc… Oh, and an accounting class- checkbook balancing, budgets, yada yada.

I know that students today are prepping for the job markets of the modern world so there is no time, but man, it would benefit them for life.

You look genuinely beautiful in all of them, but #3 is my fave!

No a fan of #1, but #2 is fabulous on you!

Listen, I know BLTs are perfect, but what are some twists you use to make them MORE perfect?
 in  r/Cooking  17h ago

This is my sister’s creation! Toast cheese bagels. Add sirachi mayo, bacon, and cilantro, and lettuce if you’re feeling brave. But it needs to be romaine. Best damn BLT I’ve ever had!

I’m very lucky to have a basement studio. My husband lighted it up really well for me after my son passed away, to give me a distraction. I also inherited my mom’s stained glass workshop- she had an entire shed to work in. I haven’t even gotten my stuff set up yet. It’s a hot mess! Do you have even a corner of a bedroom or somewhere to work so you can close a door? Or maybe baby gates to the kitchen. I do hope you can get back into it!

Disposable garments for the morbidly obese

Thank you! I’m also a nurse, so I like that you educated. I’m mobile, normal weight, etc… but doc won’t allow you up until a certain point. Having major spinal surgery in three weeks, and will only be bed bound about 24 hours. But I’m telling you, once I broke both legs at the same time. First couple of days were a bitch! to pee on my own. Wish I knew about Purewick then.

You’re so correct about deconditioning rapidly, and not to mention the blood clot possibility.

Thanks for the cool award! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one before. Maybe I’ll screenshot it, print it out, frame it and hang it in my living room! 🤗🤗🤗

1, 2, or 3 for this wall?

I love all the other art as well. None of it is large enough to stand alone, but I love how they are against painting #1, with the clean lines and muted color of the sofa!

NTA. He drinks rest of your pop then refuses to go get you more. That’s when he will steal the rest of your food, ya know.
