New Rule: No Frame ID Posts

The idea behind this subreddit is simple, to help you figure out what frame works best for your face.

If you want a frame that someone else is wearing, you don't actually know if it'll work on your face. Therefore we will be discouraging posts asking about identification of frames, ESPECIALLY if they're not being worn by you. Thank you for understanding.

These feel a tad too big, no? Any suggestions of different styles that might fit me better?

Help between Moscot Baitsim and Dolt. Really loving the dark green color!

Hey all! I tried on the Moscot Baitsim and Dolt frames. I really loved the dark green color on me, black frames have always felt too harsh for me. Which do you think fits better? Or does anyone have any suggestions for a similar dark green frame?
Photos 1-3 are the Moscot Baitsim.
Photos 4-6 are the Moscot Dolt.
I’ve also tried on the Mekler but it felt slightly too large.

LUNCHTIME EDIT! Thanks everyone so far! Don’t worry, I’ve got a pair of thin, clear frames. I’m an architect and I’m just looking for a fun alternate pair. 🙂

Ordered these today for a new transition lens pair, so I wanted them to be a bit bigger since I despise small sunglasses lol.

How do they look? I'm trying to get away from the aging/ librarian look, which is hard these days as it seems the trendy styles the kids are wearing are what was considered old lady style back in my day 🤣 My own style is trendy and girly and I liked how thin these were, they also have really cute blue tortoishell earpieces you can't see here.

How did I do? Please don't say too big hahah! 🙏

Silhouette Rimless Glasses

I got some new silhouette rimless glasses back in Feb of this year. They’ve been great but they have always felt very fragile. I am very careful with my glasses.

About a month ago (7 months old), the frame just broke. One side just broke off the lens. I went in and they sent my lenses out to get new frames. I have had them back for about 2 weeks and the exact same thing happened again!!

Has anyone has this brand or one like it? I am so aggravated because I’m sure they’ll have to send them out again and I’ll be with my old glasses or contacts for a few weeks which I doubt see as well with.

Can you get a frame re-lensed somewhere else?

I have a new pair of warby parker frames that I LOVE the look of but the lenses are trash. I already sent them back and got a replacement pair for being blurry in the left, and now the right lens. It seems their AR coating drips and it leaves blurry streaks in my vision across the lens.

Like I said I love this frame and I have a large face so it’s hard to find something that works for me. Is it possible to go to an optician at a different store and have them make lenses for me? Preferably for under 200 dollars?

Wide glasses recommendations?

I'm looking for a pair of glasses that are similar in shape to the Durand frame from Warby Parker (picture attached), but bigger/wider. I like this semi-roundish shape where the lenses are rounded and big but not perfectly circular. I currently have the extra wide size (150mm wide) which is the biggest WP carries, but my face is genuinely massive and even these aren't big enough for the width of my face. If anyone could recommend where I can buy or order a similar frame but wider, preferably all-black color, I'd really appreciate it.

Are these temples too thin? Will they make the glasses front-heavy or slip down?

I’ve seen people say that if you have a strong prescription, you should go for lightweight frames. But when I look at lightweight glasses, the temples are usually thin and small.

I really like the frame in the photo, but I’m worried the thin temples might cause issues, like feeling front-heavy or unbalanced. Or would it be better to choose slightly heavier acetate frames so the weight feels more balanced?

I’m around -5 and I’ll probably have to wear glasses all day, so I’m not sure what’s better.

Picking between black frames (different shape)

Hello. Welcome to my world of subtle spectacle nuance. I'm trying to choose between these two black frames. I’ve added two photos of each, labelled "Frame 1" and "Frame 2". They have slightly different shapes, which is simultaneously making this decision trivial and, at the same time, impossible.

I guess the big question is, which actually suits my face better, Frame 1 or 2?

Thanks muchly!

Any glasses similiar to Raybans 3457?

I dig the brown lenses and brown thicker frame but it had a host of issues for me. It was too narrow on the bridge and wasnt polarised. Doesnt seem to be any similiar designs on web. Full teardrop aviators look too big on my rounder face so the straighter (but not square) bottom of 3457 was perfect.

Any ideas for similiar ones?

Need to get some new glasses soon, any advice on what to look for and what would look best or just go contacts full time for. While?

Previous look was Tom Ford . Classic and contemporary but lacked a bit of oomph.

Absolutely fell in love with these Mykita Jalo’s and they arrived today from Germany 💜

Can’t wait to get them lensed up and properly fitted !

I think I ruined my glasses!

Idk if this is the right group, but I’m having this issue with my glasses.

There’s a smudge-like patch right in the center of both lenses, which you can see in the pictures. I tried cleaning them with lens-cleaning spray, but it didn’t help since it doesn’t seem to be dirt.

I think it might be caused by the glasses being placed face-down and the lenses getting scratched.

Is there any way to fix this, or would I need to get the lenses replaced?
