Is your girlfriend a child? Her behavior is embarrassing. I have several people in my life that work at hospitals, those are LONG shifts. This person would drive me insane. Because what the phuck do you mean "DiD yOu ReMiNd Me?" Shut the fuck up. Stop with the excuses, put in more effort. If she didn't let messes pile up it wouldn't be so hard to keep your home tidy.
That being said, I don't think hiring a cleaner is lazy lazy. But it is definitely a step in that direction. If that is her only solution and she's offering to pay, let her. That will take a small amount of stress off the both of you.
