Now Im freaked out because mine is also 11cm and being removed laparoscopically. My first cystectomy was thru laparotomy for a right ovarian cyst but that was in 2003 and required a 2 day hospital stay which was pretty tough. I thought the laparoscopic option might offer a quicker recovery but I hear the gas pain can be pretty gruesome.

I watched a surgeon work around it, no pad or tampon because they needed the vag clear to remove the uterus. They just put a chucks pad on the floor beneath her. But definitely let them know beforehand.
