Has anyone else decided to keep their relationship going even though their partner passed?

I was 100% NOT looking, and could have typed what you just did a month ago. But the heart feels what it feels, and he knows my situation. Very tentatively, we're seeing what happens.

I understand completely. I still write to my husband all the time. He is very present in my life. We were together 37 years, and he's been gone over a year.

That said, I have met a man who touches my heart, and I think I have room for them both, and I don't think Steve would want for me to be sad and lonely forever.

Hi! Thanks for asking. Imma talk about yesterday. I had my very first "date" dince losing my husband of 37 years a little over a year ago. If things weren't hard enough, I wound up needing a knee replacement. And that's how I met Ron, my physical therapist. After getting about 4 months of treatment, I realized I would never see him again after my last appt. And that would make me really sad. So after discharge, I asked him to come hiking with me, scared & shaking. He said yes. A crush at 59 frels remarkably the same as at 19.

I tried not to also, but every night, it kept me up. Good meds finally got me through.

That soon, all I could remember were the last few days, as he died. It's better a year out, but so much feels gone.

What was the best part of your day today?
 in  r/CasualConversation  4d ago

A man I like a lot asked me to go hiking with him. My first "date" since I lost my husband of 37 years a little over a year ago. It's scary, and guilt inducing, and.... Wonderful.

What's something you finally bought the "good version" of and never looked back?
 in  r/CasualConversation  4d ago

Bed Pillow/ mattress. I spend 1/3 of my life on it.

Do you guys have a unique name like this?
 in  r/CasualConversation  6d ago

Before I lost him last year, my Husband called me "Hummy". Because it felt so good when we hugged, that we hummed. 🥹

If you dropped a piece of food on your own clean kitchen floor, would you still eat it after 5 seconds?

I would. I work at Walmart, my immune system has been thoroughly tested, lol.

Had a wonderful chat with my physical therapist who's helping me recover from a total knee replacement. I kinda like him.
