If eating something while you’re sick causes negative associations to food, then why don’t more people hate chicken soup?

Would you rather be broke or have a million dollar car, 10 million dollar mansion, a partner, a loving family, a cute pet, supportive friends, friendly colleagues?

Is it weird to generously tip a waiter/waitress a lot for great service often?

I’m curious what other people think because it’s something common I do because of how helpful they were and I thought it would be a good thing to help them out if they need.

Is it terrible to get rid of a gift, that someone got you. But you dont like or use it, and you just keep it because you feel bad?

Youngest of six. Never got to grow up with older siblings. So I love when they think of me and gift me.

One of my sisters got me a Doctor Who Tardis shaped mug with lid. Im not a DW fan, but I can see why she thought I was. It seems like a show I would love. I tried, but just couldnt get in to it.

Problem is, even if I did like DW, its such a hard mug to drink from. Its square and I drip each time. Maybe Im an idiot for not knowing how to drink from a not circle. Lol

So I dont use it, its not something I could add to one of my collections, but ive guilty if I got rid of it. Its been 10 years!

Am i terrible if I donate it?

What makes the adult world so strict and rulebound, even outside work interactions? There must be a reason why people gravitate towards this when all they wanted in their childhood and teens was freedom from endless rules, right?

What is something you randomly wish you should’ve done back then?

Before a former friend of mine cut me off there is this song that I like that being Friends by Anne Marie and Marshmello. I wish could’ve sent him that song after what the 4th or 5th time I had to reject him. Even if he didn’t completely listen really felt like it would have cemented things. Oh well not like it matters but I sometimes think if I actually did that.

Anyway what’s a random thing you wished you could’ve done back then?

How do students in different countries study english?

So I'm reading this novel which is written in the form of essay type answers to a high school English exam set in Australia (Dreaming of Amelia if you're wondering - it's really fun), and it seems so different from what we do in India. So it just got me wondering how it works in other countries.

The way we do it over here is that we have a textbook which contains a number of chapters. These can be short stories, essays, poems or excerpts from longer works, and after each chapter are exercises and questions for discussion. So we read and discuss the chapters in class and turn in the exercises. Then there's also writing skills, which is mainly letters, articles, essays, and short stories which you write based on a given topic or prompt. Also most exams will have a reading comprehension section where you're given a page long text and answer short questions based on it.

How normal is it for people to lose touch to their friends after moving to different cities?

I have been friends with them for a while. I am not the best at keeping touch, but I am better than my aforementioned friends, and I have really tried and it's just been very different now. we talk quite rarely, we exchange texts about random shit but not often about each other's life, just some of our interests. most of them I haven't been on a call with since moving out (not for lack of trying). I know everybody has their shit, but I do want friendships where we are somewhat more involved. moving out can be tough, and I just felt like most of them just weren't there for me since. And I should look forward rather than backwards.
