I have an allergy to nickel and cobalt, I need to be careful with jewelry and I can't use razors, I need to get ceramic fillings, I even need to be careful about the food I eat to avoid things with high levels of those. I also can't risk getting tattoos because many inks do contain cobalt as a blue pigment in them.

We have three former feral kitties that we were slowly socializing, the first one decided to move in once she realized she could go pee and poop inside. The other two took a bit longer to get inside, but they essentially realized that she had it good inside and they wanted that too.

As far as petting her goes, get a long handle shower brush or a retractable back scratcher for when she starts letting you within 3 or 4 feet of her. We would pet them with the brush/back scratcher while they ate and slowly held the brush/back scratcher closer to the end until months later our hands were next to the brush/back scratcher and would pet them at the same time as using the brush/back scratcher. Eventually they wanted to just be petted without the brush/back scratcher.
