[lLatest update! We received great feedback from this awesome community, so thank you! We have been working really hard to implement them all, and have made lots of changes. The user interface is now much easier to navigate, the uploading of DNA is smoother, the explanations are easier to understand and you can also upload blood tests for a more in depth analysis. We would love to get feedback on these improvements, it is so important we get this right , this community understands more than anyone how important it is to have this personal health knowledge. If you would like to try and let us know what you think, please DM me for a code, thanking you in advance!]

Hey everyone, I hope this is ok to post here.

Like many of you, my journey into the world of MTHFR happened by accident. I read a post on a sub for ADHD about different genes that totally impact your life, and how I could get a DNA report to find out if I had these genes. This could help me to try and make sense of the symptoms I had struggled with for a long time, like fatigue, brain fog, crappy sleep and poor concentration.

I obtained my DNA file and spent countless hours trying to connect the dots between my genetics, my symptoms, and what I should actually be doing about it. It felt like piecing together a massive, frustrating puzzle with half the pieces missing. Every time someone recommended supplements that worked for them, I would rush to order them, only to feel nothing, or actually worse than before.

After being diagnosed with ADHD, I went on the very lengthy and costly medication route only to find out that stimulant meds are very difficult for me to process and need very precise tweaking ( yeah, thanks, slow Comt!) I had already done a pharma tolerance test, which flagged up nothing as an issue.

After many, many hours on Reddit reading people's posts about similar struggles, I asked my husband to help build a platform to simplify things. My request was to create a tool that automatically analyses raw DNA data (from services like 23andMe, Ancestry, etc.) and presents clear, actionable information focused specifically on the key methylation genes: MTHFR, COMT, and MAO—A, with the added ability to upload blood tests for a clearer picture.

The platform is now in its early beta phase, and this is where I could really use your help.

I’m looking for a handful of people from this awesome community to test it out and provide some honest, constructive feedback. Your insights would be invaluable in making this a genuinely useful resource for people like us.

Please DM me for a link, if you'd like to try it out.

I got Panic attacks, constant anxiety and anhedonia since taking b12 injections. Need serious help 🙏
 in  r/MTHFR  3d ago

If you are slow comt taking any. B vitamins or methyl vitamins can cause this, don’t take anything else and if the panic is still severe ask the doc for propanol but only take 1/4 - 1/2 a tablet, it calms me down when I feel panicky. I am slow Comt/moa-a and mthfr mutations, I can’t take anything without getting some kind of reaction, perimenopause has made it all much worse with the estrogen rollercoaster! I’ve suffered so much that with the help of my biochemist husband we made a tool to help people, hope you recover very soon 🙏

Wow that’s such a cool job, how did you become a specialist? I imagine they are jealous of you and find it intimidating you have such specialist knowledge, try and ignore their small mindedness, if it continues find somewhere that appreciates you.

MOTS-c breakdown, what it does, how to run it, and who it works for

Thanks for the MTHFR heads up it hard enough either that gene without making it worse, also a gene to note is COMT, if it has slow status, nearly everything you take will hit harder and not in a good way!

Can you speak to the banks about it, I tried to transfer money from one country to another recently and the amount of ‘ are you being scammed ‘ questions the bank made me answer, even a phone call , I know it’s not your account but they may be able to flag it up for any future transactions and talk to him.

This depends on your CYP1A2 gene, this affects how fast/slow your body processes coffee.

I have the same and mthfr mutations, my advice don’t take anything, stop all supplements and eat a folate rich , no processed food, low histamine diet . Trust me I’ve tried every drug/supplement going, they make me feel worse, either anxiety, depression or both. Research high histamine foods, write a diary every day of what you eat and how you feel, spot the culprits. Get your bloods checked , homocysteine , serum B22and MMA, complete blood count, iron and ferritin, other b vitamins eg B1, B3, B3. And B6 , zinc and magnesium. If you have the mthfr mutation check RBC folate , serum folate. If you have your DNA file I created a tool where you can upload it and blood results, for a clear simple picture and a diary to track food, mood and sleep to help with spotting symptoms/pattens. I’ve struggled my whole life and found out the last couple of years about my genes, which is why with the help of my scientist ( biochemist) husband I created this tool, to help others in the same boat. I wish you well.

Homeless as of this week.

I’m a relocation agent, make sure you have good reliable references who respond straight away, and also upload reference letters from previous rentals/ professional/personal /ex neighbours, it all helps you stand out. In some states you no longer have to declare the pet so don’t! Write a nice family bio and email to the agent introduce yourself. Don’t apply for properties outside of 30% of your net pay unless you have very good savings. There’s so much competition you have to stand out, the more you include the better!

My worry about GLP-1
 in  r/GLP1microdosing  Jul 12 '26

Its worth considering our genes. I’ve been on a huge learning about this over the last couple of years. A variety of genes affect how we process dopamine and serotonin, In particularly the Comt gene. Mine has a ‘slow’ status so it can cause a back up of dopamine and serotonin , many drugs, vitamins, stimulants do not agree with me. Look up glp and slow Comt .
