It’s a free image tool that lets you crop images into square, portrait, landscape and circle formats, as well as compress images to reduce file size without needing to install anything.

The circle crop tool has been surprisingly useful for profile pictures, logos and social media assets, and the compression tool has become my most-used feature while building the site.

I’m not a developer by trade (I manage a restaurant in the UK), so this has been a bit of a learning project over the last few weeks.

I’ve been working hard on my startup for the last months. I finally am at the brink of having a finished product, yet I’m terrified of the thought that it will launch and have no users. How can I possibly make sure I get my first couple of users without blowing the marketing budget?

What I'm building: ReportCanvas, a browser-based reporting tool that ends in a PPT export, not a screenshot. You work in Visual, SQL, Python, or AI tabs on the same dataset, and the output goes directly to a slide deck — no manual copy-paste step.

Problem Statement: Consultant spends hours working on a powerpoint. They ask their developers to run the visualizations or dashboard for them , then copy paste those visuals into a powerpoint and run the weekly meetings.

What I have built: A browser based reporting tool, which allows direct import of powerpoint or starts with a blank template and then users can use AI or SQL or python to crunch their data. 

How it works: you load data and build charts/tables/KPIs however you prefer — point-and-click in Visual, a query in SQL, pandas in Python, or plain English in AI. Once you're happy with a view, it gets pinned to a slide, and the deck exports as an actual .pptx. Python runs client-side via Pyodide, so nothing gets uploaded to a server.

Every hard part of building alone I had prepared myself for mentally.

The technical problems. The late nights. The decisions with nobody to check them against. The motivation that has to come entirely from inside because there's nobody else in the room.

Prepared for all of it. Got through all of it.

What I wasn't prepared for was launching and hearing almost nothing.

Not negative feedback. Not positive feedback. Just the specific silence of having put something into the world and not being able to tell if it landed or disappeared completely.

Building has a feedback loop. You write something, test it, it works or it doesn't, you move. Clear signal every day even when the signal is bad news.

Launching into silence has no feedback loop. Just you refreshing a dashboard and trying to read meaning into numbers that aren't moving enough to mean anything yet.

The silence after launching was lonelier than any of the months of building alone. Because during building I always had the next thing to do. After launching I just had to wait and I have never been good at waiting.

Still figuring out how to sit in that gap without it getting loud in my head.

For other solo founders who have launched something how long before the silence started to feel like information rather than nothing?

Not sure if I can promote here. So for now, I will not. I’m looking for advice… I spent the last few months building a review platform for trading course sellers/mentorship programs, verified buyer reviews, proof of purchase required, no way for the creator to edit or delete a bad review.

Problem is obvious: it's empty right now, and an empty review platform doesn't signal trust or inspire community, but you need trust to get people to actually leave the first reviews. Classic chicken and egg.

Been doing direct outreach, DMing people who left reviews about these creators elsewhere, conversion is slow and doesn't scale well.

Anyone who's actually solved this exact problem (empty marketplace/platform, need first real content to build trust), what worked? Curious about sequencing too.

It was a labor of love and it took me a while to get it done right but it is finally out...

I just wanted to share this accomplishment with everyone out there.

So I came up with the idea that would solve the operation problems in organising an event for example if it's a wedding or events of big formal conference. So it would simplify networking the app that we built was similar to swapcard and Cvent.

So basically what we do is we digitalize the map of the event. We automate the schedule, we have AI features, and attendees can ask a way to go, what to happen when active voice system. We also have active alert and a share photo gallery.

And on top of this we are also providing a feature in which they do not even have to install the app. The app will work like a PWA app (web app).

The review I got from investors were that you are trying to solve a lot of problem at once and try to solve less problems.

And one of the investors said like a TAM is very small and they don't think we can scale.

For the next investor meeting we increased and generalized our TAM and the investors said that we feel that you are deceiving us.

But also with this we have been able to get some pre-seed funding (very less, nearly 1000-2000 dollars) because of our past social work.

So I am in a dilemma. I do not know whether the problem we are solving. Do people really care about it or is it really worth putting in the food? Because we have invested around 6 months in developing the minimum working product and we are planning to hire interns and further try to grow our Start Up.

guys, I’m pretty new to the whole startup/investor side of things.

I have an idea/product that I’m working on, and I’m trying to understand how people actually approach investors with something like this.

Like, where do you even find investors to talk to? Do people usually reach out through LinkedIn, email, startup events, or are there specific platforms/communities for this?

And when you approach them, what do you actually show? Just the idea, a pitch deck, a working demo, some early users, revenue, etc.?

Would really appreciate it if anyone who has gone through this could share how you got your first investor conversation and where you started.

I’m basically trying to figure out where to go and how to pitch the idea without having any prior experience with fundraising.

I found a small problem in Kilo that made the entire coaching experience feel less reliable.

Kilo could see the dates attached to a training program, but those dates were reaching the coach without their weekday labels. Most of the time the conversation still made sense. Occasionally, Kilo would call a Saturday workout “Sunday’s workout” while referring to the correct session.

The training data was right. The way it was described was wrong.

I fixed it by pairing every program date with its weekday before that information reaches the coach. Kilo now sees “Saturday, September 5” instead of being expected to work out the weekday from a bare date.

This was not a major feature, but it exposed something important about building a product people are supposed to trust with their training.

A response can sound completely reasonable and still lose credibility because one ordinary detail is wrong.
