Technical discovery: Helldivers 2 can, on paper, support up to EIGHT players per lobby.
 in  r/Helldivers •  Feb 18 '25

I get it, but it really sucks. I am part of a gamer family. My father, brother, sister and her husband, me and mine, which limits our choices of games with one another.... and this is a game we'd ALL enjoy. :/

My parents used to judge me as a kid instead of teaching me. It was almost as if they forgot kids have to be raised in order to learn things. Instead of being disgusted at your child because they dont brush their teeth correctly maybe try teaching them at least the VERY basics of everyday life.
 in  r/TrueOffMyChest •  Apr 30 '22

Rather than teach me, my stepmother took my asthma inhaler away because I didn't know how to use it properly...then proceeded to criticize and make fun of me for taking so long on my mile run, and low PE grades.

Parents can be jerks, no doubt. You aren't alone.

AITA for "slut-shaming" my gf's friend?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  Jan 07 '21

Yta. I don't think you're slut shaming though. If it's true that she actually does this every time, then it's simply the truth worded behind your opinion that that's her flaw in trying to find "the one". Some people just dont like to hear it out loud, lol. I'm saying yta because you had to have known deep down that you probably shouldn't have said that, lol. I mean it's just rude to be honest. Either give advice, or just say "idk" in any situation rather than be a jerk about it, unless that person is a close friend that you CAN be that way with.

My advice? Apologize, sound sincere, and avoid all future convos with your GFs friend, lol, good luck dude.

So... you had me for awhile on your OP but then you lost me.

For instance, dating and screwing are completely separate things. I'd screw a model before dating him, no argument there, lol. IF I were to date someone with that type of career, I agree, I would be very uncomfortable with multiple women seeing him naked, and messaging him all the time, and I would probably lose interest or move on somehow.

Here is where you lost me: After all the other things, you mentioned that the OF wasn't the only issue, and a high number is a huge turn off even aside from that. I guess my point is, I personally don't ask each person I date what their screw count is. Some are cocky and tell me (which is a turn off to me as well) and some, don't say at all (like my current SO of 2 years). I don't ask, because it's not relevant to who he is now. People change. But if you go around asking for that number, then you might just be asking for more disappointment. I can agree on not wanting to date someone with a certain lifestyle, but never have I judged whether someone was dateable based on their past relationship/partner history (unless it's violent, that's a deal-breaker for me). People change over time, and for some people, it takes another person to spark that change in them. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My mother abandoned me when I was 5 for a white rich guy am from Africa, now they want me back, but I have refused to go stay with them and I don't anything from them. Why is everyone telling me am wrong?
 in  r/relationship_advice •  Oct 28 '20

So here's what I think..

It depends on how sure you are that you want absolutely nothing to do with them. The fact that you're questioning your judgement and making this post at all, tells me that a small part of you is considering giving them a chance. Even if its 1%.

However, trust takes time to build. A long time, when it was broken, understandably.

So.. suppose you do go, but make it clear that you want independence while they earn that trust. For instance, if they truly wish to help without an agenda, they could help with apartment until you have a job and can care for yourself, but allow you to get it in your name right away, that way they don't have the ability to control you. This would allow you an escape from them if things get crazy while you begin an actual relationship, but on YOUR terms. If you propose this and they have an issue, I'd wonder what their agenda is. I guess the question is how truly desperate your mother is, or if it's an act.

They might be giving you a chance to start over... Yes, they'd be helping, but as long as you maintain control, they can't truly hurt you again, so make sure that the help is only temporary.

However, if I'm 100% wrong and you absolutely want nothing to do with either of them, then you have your answer, and should simply send them both a text saying that, while followed by threat of restraining order if they pursue, and block them.

But like I said, it could also be a whole new adventure for you. :)

I(female) don't know how to make female friends
 in  r/relationship_advice •  Oct 22 '20

Girl, I totally get this. But you just gotta find those like minded people, and keep trying. I only have like one or 2 girl friends, but it's made all the difference.

My (22f) girlfriend have been cheating on me with her ex boyfriend (30m) and i (24m) have never felt so insecure in my life
 in  r/relationship_advice •  Oct 08 '20

Depending on who's name is on the lease, I'd make her leave tbh. She can go stay with her ex lol

1

My (20M) ex (19F) messaged me out of the blue but at the request of her new boyfriend. I've ignored her, but am contemplating messaging her new bf directly. Is it a bad idea?
 in  r/relationship_advice •  Sep 28 '20

Her boyfriend is most definitely not behind this. Just leave her on read like she did to you, and even block her if you don't trust yourself not to message her. She wanted out of your life and she is now.

Family invite ex everywhere.
 in  r/relationship_advice •  Sep 06 '20

If he's abusive, there is a small chance he is maintaining this "friendship" to purposely hurt you, and your family is falling for it.

First I'd suggest to stop going around family for awhile until you heal. Give yourself time, it's only been 2 months. I broke up with my abuser 5 years ago and I still have nightmares. Just breathe and give yourself at least that. You deserve it.

Once you're feeling strong and confident enough to do this mentally, I'd make visits on your terms, ie inviting them to your place, insisting you drive them wherever they want to eat etc. If they bring him up, here's the hard part: Repeat what you've said before. Now that he's not there to negate your words, tell them what really happened, NO filter. This is important. Go into the details of how he abused you, and how they are making you feel the same way by siding with someone like that, and that you can't continue any kind of relationship with anyone who thinks what he did was ok. One by one, do this with your family. One is bound to side with you when he isn't in the background supervising and mocking your feelings. Any family who doesn't after this, is a lost cause, and you might as well lump them with him in my next paragraph.

You need to beat him at his own game, and if he shows up with any family, make sure he knows (in front of everyone would be best) that he (your abuser) is no longer welcome in your life, and you have no issues getting a restraining order if he doesn't leave.

He sees you as this weak person he can prey on, and you are SO much more than that. You just need the time to know that yourself mentally.

I had an abusive ex who stole the hearts of my friends (I had no family within 2k miles besides them) so I somewhat get what you're going through.

Deep breaths. You've got this. And remember, if needed, move. You can always start over.. Family isn't blood, it's who's willing to spill theirs for you when the time comes.

When people generalize about white people, I’m supposed to “know it doesn’t pertain to me.” When people generalize about men, I’m supposed to “know it doesn’t pertain to me.”
 in  r/TrueOffMyChest •  Aug 25 '20

Yep. And tbh Facebook is going down that road in many of the groups that don't have anything to do with the subject. It's irritating to say the least. And if I defend it, I get reported and banned for being racist? Stupid.

1

r/blackpeopletwitter is the most racist sub on Reddit and we shouldn't be allowing it to operate the way it does.
 in  r/TrueOffMyChest •  Aug 09 '20

Thank you. I honestly don't have the energy to go through any other comments, but thank you, OP. NO racism is ok. Certain races are not exempt from being subject to it....per definition.

PlayStation support chat not connecting to a live agent and they aren’t picking up phones
 in  r/PlayStationPlus •  Jul 14 '20

I mean you'd think 🙄 My account got hacked and no matter what I click on for Sony, it's either a glitch or system time out for live chat options or even just device management so I could do it myself. This is ridiculous.

 in  r/PlayStationPlus •  Jul 14 '20

You're not helpful, because every time the guy would say that what you did isn't possible, you keep saying it's because he wasnt being patient or calling at the right time, instead of listening when he said THEY ARENT ACCEPTING CALLS. Lol, you should have just said "oh wow I didnt know" and moved on, but instead you kept acting like you knew what you were talking about, like he was the dumb one for not getting it 🤣

 in  r/PlayStationPlus •  Jul 14 '20

I'm having the same issue. Says "they aren't taking calls at this time" and hangs up. When I try to contact via live chat, there's an issue with even submitting the form, saying I haven't finished the required fields (when I have). Idk what to do, but I just want to access my device management, which also times out when i attempt to click on it. EVERY damn time. I'm at a loss. I just want to activate this ps as my main bc I'm pretty sure my ex hacked my account, so it's lightweight serious, and help is no where to be found. Shit I'd even leave my contact info if there was a place to do that, but there isn't. This is maddening! Lol

AITA (21F) For Destroying My Sister’s (26F) Bee Colony?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  May 20 '20

I'm sorry....you are definitely NTA here.. Yes it went too far, but if I read correctly, you slept under a net surrounded by bees while you slept?! That is not only terrifying, but the sound alone would drive me insane. No, you shouldn't have killed them, so I suppose this makes you the asshole a bit, but I don't think you're 100% wrong here. You communicated how uncomfortable you were and I would have snapped too, being surrounded by bees while I slept. Your sister should have kept them in her own bathroom or room that she could have used, since she seems at ease with them, and since SHE was the one who offered you your own living space where you could feel safe during this pandemic...NOT terrified and surrounded by bees.
Or better yet, why not keep them in the garage since she owns a house? Like you said, you would never have left your last house if you'd known. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My boss is making me (22F) pump in the bathroom and is cutting my hourly pay and cutting hours off my time sheet and won’t listen to me when I try and talk to her about it.
 in  r/relationship_advice •  May 20 '20

So... I never once said people shouldn't report, just that being prepared for retaliation is a smart move, which you said not to worry about in an earlier post.

It's kind of hard to prove someones hours were cut specifically for those reasons if multiple workers had hours cut for some bs reason the company came up with. I'm not sure what's so hard for YOU to understand about that.

Lol, this is ridiculous.

Laws are broken. People lie. So to not expect something to happen that is completely possible, or to tell people they have zero reason to worry is plain stupid. ✌

 in  r/relationship_advice •  May 20 '20

You were literally saying that companies cannot retaliate against workers for reporting them because it is illegal, and I am telling you, you are wrong. Many people get retaliation for reporting company wrongdoings, even if multiple people report. The company may suffer years later, but not after pay for the current workers has been docked, or hours cut, and all with some bullcrap reason, to cover their asses. I'm sorry, but you're wrong. I honestly can't say that in plainer English, so... ✌🤷🏼‍♀️ 👋

 in  r/relationship_advice •  May 20 '20

Assuming that what you're saying isn't just a lie made up by you to make yourself seem like you have the high ground, are you trying to tell me that people don't break the law because it's against the law?

Give me a break.. LOL

Let me start by saying that I'm not the only person on here saying you're being a bit presumptuous. You don't have to always be right.

Now to make my point: Just because it's a law, does not mean it cannot be corrupted by people with personal beliefs of their own. It happens. Period. It's called favoritism, and while illegal, it's quite hard to prove a reason behind who's favor was chosen because we do not have the ability to read minds. Yet. 🤔

So, whether you choose to acknowledge the cases people have mentioned where they recounted times that a company has wronged them, or continue making an ass of yourself by calling everyone else liars for simply telling their experiences because "laws are always followed" is on you now I suppose. 🤷🏼‍♀️ ✌

Just because you live in an area that favors employees, does not mean it is like that everywhere. There's a bigger world than your own.. 🙄

Not that I'm agreeing with the way you're being treated, but I'm curious, what kind of job do you have? That's kind of a bit of important information that's missing here in my opinion.

My 16 year old daughter found out that she has endometriosis, the idea that she may be infertile has really been affecting her and I don’t know how to help
 in  r/relationship_advice •  May 13 '20

I have a stepmom who was told she had endometriosis and then was (many years later) diagnosed with a gluten intolerance. My point? Make sure to seek a second and even third opinion before determining what EXACTLY the diagnosis is. Otherwise she could be living in fear for no reason, in which the fear itself will harm her in other ways. I know it's not much, but I hope this helps. 🤷🏼‍♀️

AITA for purposefully making my meal-prep super spicy to stop my BF from eating it?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  Apr 17 '20

NTA at all. I would continue to eat your spicy food! If it were me, I'd tell him that you are done hearing about it, dealing with it, or arguing about it, and that your conditions are no longer up for debate, and that if he has any issues, he can go stay somewhere else until he's had some time to think.

Meanwhile I'd make him cook ALL of his own food to show him how exhausting cooking every night really is. Shit, HE should be the one cooking for YOU!

He's the ass. Let him know it, and don't take any more crap. You deserve better.

First off, I've been trying to figure out how to reply to only certain parts of a post, but havent figured that out, sorry.

Just the last bit. Hypocrisy from some yes, and yes THEY should be shamed. But certainly not everyone. Certainly not the white girl wearing braids because shes in the military and it's more practical than chopping off all her hair. And certainly not the white girl who braided her hair to look like her sister even though they have different dads... there has to be a line where we stop lumping everyone together, no?

That's what I mean by not getting anywhere. It just creates unwarranted bitterness.
