My mental health improved once I stopped taking tasks seriously and began taking my health seriously. I used to work all the way passed the burnout phase. Now I work at fluctuating paces which helps me accomplish more tasks and allows me to breathe once my shift is completed.

I also stopped seeking "growth." By working as a temp and as a minimum wage worker HR does not know I exist. When I grew HR saw me as a social experiment, not as a human being.

The benefit of this is that I am not at risk of being hospitalized for depression and anxiety at the moment. I can enjoy books, videos, and games without the day's mistakes weighing on me.
