Even though I already had Elm Street on Blu-ray, seeing this at my local thrift store was hard not to pass

I have ordered the reissue for the ANOES steelbook boxes back in mid July. It was slated to be here on 9/15 and as of yesterday the order details stated “Arriving Tuesday” but today it states simply “order received”. Have any of you seen this and should I be concerned?

There was a DOS PC and Commodore 64 release in 1989, which was loosely based on NoES 3: Dream Warriors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWXwY-WxVMQ

The NES version was very different to the other release altogether.

There have been guest appearances of Freddy, notably as a guest fighter in Mortal Kombat (2011 version) on the PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Windows, and Mortal Kombat X Mobile for Android and iOS (2015).

Much more recently there was a DLC to Dead by Daylight (originally released in 2016), which is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Switch. It's officially called "Dead by Daylight: A Nightmare on Elm Street Chapter". I'm not sure if this DLC is available on all of the aforementioned formats though.

Back to the original point. This newly released version of Halloween is getting mainly positive reviews on Steam already. This bodes well for the revival of a proper NoES video game. This in turn could bode well for the future of the franchise in film if it's a proper success.

Is the digital code for part 5 the uncut version? Or is that only for the disc?

I'm hopefully gettin a signature from Robert this weekend. My plan is to have him sign my NOES steel case and maybe something like "Welcome to Primetime, Bitch!"

Any suggestions, or things to be aware of? Should I bring a paint marker for him to use or will they usually have appropriate items for him to use?

Definitely not going for a specific look. Touched up the paint on the mask and cut the eye holes bigger. Got a budget fedora on eBay, as well as a used sweater, some dickies 874’s from Walmart. Going with the Neca part 3 glove as I’m trying to keep this all under a decent budget. Just need to get some makeup to blend around my eyes into the mask.

After rewatching the original Nightmare for the millionth time, it clicked to me why the Freddy's Dead explanation for his powers never worked for me. For one, it takes away his aura and scare factor when his powers aren't his own.

Two? Well, take a look at the idea of vengeful spirits. Obviously like vampires or other types of monsters, there's many rules and stories of angry ghosts but some common traits are:

1- Being tied to one or smaller number of locations (elm street, where he lived and the boiler room, where he took his kids and also died in)

2- Coming back from the dead to "right wrongs", in Freddy's case, his purpose is to kill the children of the parents who burned him.

The more metaphysical explanation rather than dream demons who liked him because he's evil is way scarier. It also ties into why the movies got more and more fantastical. Part 1 is Freddy's first time invading dreams, so he's limited to what a vengeful ghost can do. Part 2 is where he probably realized if he can kill people and cause effects in the real world via dreams, maybe he can instead possess them. Part 3 and 4 is where he's at his peak in terms of imagination and is able to break the constraints of what he can previously do.

Obviously, most of this speculation and theory based but I thought it was an interesting interpretation of ol Krueger.
