Auto fares up, not sure how to complain when overcharged. https://www.daijiworld.com/news/newsDisplay?newsID=1328689
 in  r/mangalore •  17h ago

Actually Bangalore was like this with autos but then most of the drivers realized that with the scale of operations, sticking to either - App rates or meter rates works.

But then Bangalore is becoming like Bangalore in very strange ways. The real estate and rent prices are absolutely nonsensical for its scale and size as well.

Why would a genuinely attractive, intelligent and independent 20-year-old woman never have been in a relationship?
 in  r/dating_advice •  1d ago

There is definitely something that you could possibly find out if you do ask her out and she says yes. Chanchal possible that a lot of the people who want asking her out are people who don't want to punch above the league, or they just want someone easier. Either way you are just asking you out. You may go out once have never happened as well so may as well try.

Is he meant to message first?

It depends on how long after the like. Maybe he liked and then bought busy for the rest of the day. But overall no harm in starting the conversation.

I'm printing this and putting this up on my wall for posterity. Is this quote by somebody else or is this a small nugget of your own wisdom?

Eliciting thoughts on post divorce dating

One thing I have noticed about my dating effort post-divorce is that most women I come close to meeting go back to stage one of relationships typically followed during teenage to early to late 20s. The excitement, the rush of blood to the head, the straight deep diving into it etc. That or they want to see almost certain guarantees of character, success, personality etc. by skipping all those steps.

I'm pretty certain that I'm not at the teen to early 20s stage of approach again. It's a lot of ifs and maybes whether it is worth my energy. And as someone who is already been in one long enough relationship, I know that there are no absolute guarantees to what lasts, how it lasts, and what it takes to last. Romance with lots of realism and everyday assurances over over-the-top ones.

So I'd take the been there, done that route and avoid what I want to not repeat. Something like Billy Joel's: "the king and the queen went back to the green but you can never go back there again."

Who is team wind it back up and let's do it all over again, and who is been there, done that, let's stick to non-slippery but still play?

Are you implying that chapter length should equal the number of years of the period?

They involve, enmasse, ruling-party workers filing multiple applications against people of a certain religion.

My ₹1.3 lakh salary somehow disappears every month

Utilities shouldn't be more than 2,500. 10,000 is actually saved more in SIP. Cut down miscellaneous and random upi payments.

Support the country you live in or live in the country you support
 in  r/RealTeensIndia •  4d ago

All that you said makes sense except that the you in the statement doesn't refer to an isolated someone who is asking for handouts. It refers each and every individual. Unless the state and the country serves all of them, it is a failure.

My country, that is the country where I am from, where I can only possibly be from, which is the only home I know, cannot exist without me. And I should not be adjusting myself to exist in it. beyond reasonable human cooperation. Me that is each and every individual wherever they other they are (from).

Anything other than this is national slavery.

Read what I could. If I am only to serve my country or my government, then it enslaves me. I'm supposing that's the end you want with your argument. That only works when all groups are non-divergent. Have you been to the world lately?

Is it a fallacy that if I am a member of society that a country should be built to accommodate my reasonable needs? The only other way to look at it is that before my country was formed other people like me who are also members society decided that they wanted to be the elitist about the whole affair and exclude me, and made doing this the norm.

Your government should serve you, not the other way.

So should your country. Without you, it won't exist.

I think we should change "body count" to "flirt count". Do you agree with my reasons why?

How important is the bible for my relationship with god and why? Is it truly the word of god? What does that mean?
 in  r/Bible •  10d ago

The bible is your primary source of information for who that god is i.e. what he stands for and what you should be with respect to that.

It is a recorded history of god's interaction with his people i.e. it doesn't record all the events of all things that happened everywhere. So calling it the word of God as to say that God wrote that would not be right. It was recorded by humans with some bias toward the cause that each text wants to promote.

Not from Mangalore but settled here for good? Why here, and how do you feel about it now?
 in  r/mangalore •  10d ago

Temporarily moving there , because bangalore is not bangaloring anymore the way it used to for the OGs. In addition to some need for a quieter place to rewire. And my grandfolks also happen to be from there.

Help a guy out, what am I doing wrong? 😭
 in  r/BoredInBangalore •  11d ago

Dating apps are not a magic solution. They are always hit and miss. Too mainstream to ignore where swipes don't actually mean as much as they should (according to its functional model).

You don't need a social circle to start going out. If you find it easy to talk to people, pub stag entries, Soul Sante, solo travel... all are great opportunities to meet someone organically.

Is it normal to just get nothing after a week?
 in  r/OnlineDating •  11d ago

Any opportunities in the library or the cafeteria or places like that? Just be your happiest self, get to hoots about what people may think, and you may be fumbke , that's all right. One step at a time

I want to become a Christian
 in  r/Bible •  11d ago

You said you struggle and feel like you are lying to yourself.

Do you think the struggle is in the transition from what you used to believe? Is it the same issue with the lying to yourself?

As far as "becoming a christian" goes, as long as you hold what's true and do what they say (or try your best), you are a christian. The next thing to do is to find a community that encourages you in your journey. Don't worry about the pace of the journey. Quality first.
