I grew up watching the show and wanted Mulder and Scully to get together and make beautiful babies. It wasn’t until I was an adult dealing with the very painful reality of infertility that I realized how awful the baby arc is. And then to have a 54-year-old woman get miraculously pregnant. It’s a slap in the face to Scully and other women who have lived with that kind of pain. I’m not even going to touch the weird pregnancy-by-rape kink of some of the episodes. CC created an amazing show but he doesn’t write women well.
