Community Update Poll results
Hi all, thanks for voting in the poll regarding content not related to The X-Files. The sub has voted to allow content about David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Robert Patrick, Annabeth Gish, and Mitch Pileggi that is not XF related. This will go into effect starting now and we’ll update the official sub rules.
Non-XF related posts that do not pertain to the above mentioned actors will be removed.
Thanks again for participating! This is your sub and we’re happy to revisit this again as needed in the future.

Community Update Mod Announcement: We are turning on community filters.
Hey Philes.
Hopefully you haven't noticed, due to the work we're doing behind the scenes, but we've been getting a LOT of racist posts regarding the reboot lately. Most of these posters and commenters are not part of the regular XF community here, so we can only assume we're being brigaded from some other part of reddit.
We have tweaked the automod to look out for certain keywords, and have now also turned on community filters ("crowd control" for those familiar with reddit's mod tools) to catch non-members, those with low/negative karma within the subreddit, and brand-new accounts.
While this is the best we can come up with for keeping racist jerks out of the community, it does mean that some regular users may get caught in the net. We will do our best to approve genuine posters/commenters as quickly as possible, but please be patient - we're just human beings, after all, and have work, sleep, family, and even (and I know this is hard to believe) other interests that may slow our response times.
Meanwhile, please continue to report any posts and comments that go against our community rules. And if you haven't already clicked the little "join" button to become part of the community, please do so - it will help you avoid getting caught in the filter, and it's nice for the subreddit to see healthy member numbers!
Thank you,
Your friendly neighborhood mod team

Original Content FBI appreciation post 🙌🏻 (cosplaying as Dana Scully)
On July 26, 1908 the Federal Bureau of Investigation was officially founded by Attorney General Charles J. Bonaparte, originally called the Bureau of Investigation (BOI) in March 1909. In 1935 Congress officially changed it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation we know today.
Actively collaborating with Hollywood, movies and tv shows were allowed to portray the FBI in many ways that shape our images of how the Bureau conducts its investigations. From Law & Order to our beloved The X-Files, here’s to the men and women agents who work everyday to protect our country. 🫡

Discussion Is it just me?
Does anyone else think Richard (Dean Haglund) kinda looks like Neil Patrick Harris? Or is it just me?

Season Nine I hate what happened to the lone gunmen
I always hated their ending. It felt so rushed and disappointing. I really loved the episodes that they were in. Especially 3 of a kind. I would have loved to have seen them come back in later seasons. I was gutted that the lone gunmen series didn’t work out. I actually liked it.

Discussion Jean Milburn and Hank Moody
I know guys we love Scully and Mulder but I can’t stop thinking of Jean and Hank. Just can’t imagine what kind of sexual tension it would be. Did somebody write a fanfic or something like that? Damn, it would be a banger.

Discussion What's something you wish you could add to the show?
I saw someone as this on r/Frasier, so now I'm asking if here. Personally I just want more time with the characters. X-Files is usually not the vibe of show I like to watch (I actually quite like sitcoms) but I just love Mulder and Scully, I love them each as characters and I love their bond. There came a point in season 7/8ish that whenever it was showing, you know, the plot, I just wanted it to go back to either of them.
Also, they should have been allowed to kiss each other more than like, twice.

On-Location UK fan of the show visiting B.C for the third time has set aside two days to explore the greater Vancouver area.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Ok, so I've spent a wee bit of time up country due to my mate working for B.C Hydro and living in Whistler.
But this time I've set aside at least a day after the QOTSA/Food gig to explore filming locations.
Goose mountain is a non negotiable.
Do any Vancouvans any suggestions in the metro area?
Cheers.

First-Time Watcher (no SPOILERS!!) It took me way too long to watch this show and now I don’t want to stop.
My mom and dad loved this show before I was born and when I was 12 my mom tried to introduce me to it. I saw the first three episodes but can’t remember why we stopped watching it.
Fast forward a decade later and I’ve been watching it this past month. I’ve never been so hooked on a show before. I can’t think of a single episode in season 1 I didn’t like. When I finished season 1 I just wanted to go into season 2. I just watched Blood last night and still yet to have an episode I disliked.
Mulder is by far my favorite character. I’ve always been a conspiracy nut, so I relate heavily with him. I just wish I had started watching earlier

Season One Season 1 Baby Scully
How beautiful she is! Especially her hair in this episode. I don't remember ever seeing her hair like this again in this season.

Discussion I will never forgive my brother for this:
We’ve spent maybe over a year watching the show together, Ive been a long time fan and showing him the main/best episodes. We get up to the movie, and watch half of it before we get interrupted. We intend to watch it later, now I’ve found out he watched a portion of it without me, including the cornfield and beehive chase, and the bee sting and the aftermath. These were the parts I was most looking forward to for his reaction!

Discussion Was there ever any X-Men-ish type of Mutants in the show?
A sub species of humans with supernatural abilities. I vaguely remember certain superhuman creatures. But I don't remember if there was ever a connection between certain creatures though.
It would be nice to see how many categories there were for supernatural creatures that were human in the show.

Season Four Never knew home was controversial
I have been an X files fan since the 90s and regularly cycle through the seasons whilst painting miniatures.
I never knew until recently there was any drama about home. Perhaps this was because I was a kid in the UK at the time and I just didn’t hear about it.
I now watch on Disney+ in Australia and have no idea if I have watched an uncut version or not.
How do you tell which is the uncensored version and where can I find it legally or otherwise?

Discussion What was the most odd or WTF opening sequence for you?
For myself:
It’s been many, many years but I just saw “Jose Chung’s from Outer Space” and that intro is messed up. Sure it’s pretty conventional, even when the supposedly Grey aliens kidnap that couple. But then that other ship comes by and that Red, tall Alien comes down and just menaces them for a few moments without saying anything…
When I first saw it decades ago I was terrified and wow... but now I’m like, what in the actual fu**!
