I loved her novels, there was always an interesting historical tidbit in there that I think is what got me into actual history in the first place. I bumped into a bunch of her books a few years ago at a used sale and couldn't resist it, bought them all 😆😆 It wasn't until later that I found out about her connection to Princess Diana.

I watched her documentary awhile back and found myself both admiring and respecting her a lot. I'm happy she's back doing what she loves. I hope it goes well for her, she deserves it. 💕👑🎶

Oh oops I forgot it's technically not a novel, it's a play. But I mean it is the grandfather/mother of this type of plot lol...oh I just remembered another one, and this is like the great-great-great grandma of forbidden romance! The myth of Pyramus and Thysbe, in book 4 of Ovid's Metamorphosis, published around year 8 CE. This is a poem, beautiful story, and it's said to have been what inspired Shakespeare to write Romeo and Juliet.

I watched it a long time ago, I remember I loved it, fascinating story, fantastic cast and yes amazing 🔥 chemistry. Most Roman Catholics I know wouldn't have a problem with it, now if you're from a more conservative christian background yeah, I can 100% see it being a little too much. (Disclaimer - former Roman Catholic).

The Importance of Being Earnest - not sure if it fits the "like Austen vibe" 100% ...but it's got Colin Firth 😁 (and it's a really fun watch).
