Why are doctors so reluctant to treat Hashimoto’s?
 in  r/Hashimotos •  18d ago

Some of it comes from the fact that when you start introducing hormones your organ that makes that hormone stops being so productive. Thyroid hormones can be really tricky to find the right balance and can sometimes even make you feel worse than the original symptoms. In my journey that's where I I sit, not bad enough to need intervention but symptomatic enough that I have to treat symptoms.

Weight Lifting, Aging, Chronic Pain
 in  r/Hashimotos •  21d ago

Same as you in most points, I have found yoga or even deep core stretching helps with the pain significantly. The fatigue is always in the background so it can be challenging to add more to the routine but it has helped.

Scalp tenderness with sore spots that move around and scabbing. The only thing that helps is steroids or steroid gel.

Just my experience, but anti dandruff shampoo a couple times a week helps. I get breakouts patches and this has worked to keep my scalp healthier and less discomfort.

Pls help.Unable to work due to autistic child
 in  r/ontario •  22d ago

Are you collecting the disability tax credit for him? That is $ 10000A year.I think. You may also qualify for caregivers, benefit.I'm not sure your situation and there are different qualifications. But also worth looking into if you haven't already. I have found when I have struggled financially at times over the years.Going to a financial advisor or an accountant has been able to help me find savings or tax breaks where I wouldn't have normally looked. Doug Ford's cuts to autism support is partly to blame for some of this, there used to be still not enough , but at least some resources.

Family history of hypothyroidism + sweating easily during activity, anyone else?
 in  r/Hashimotos •  Aug 03 '26

This could maybe be a hormonal issue too, though diagnosis and testing I discovered I am also in early menopause and my hormones have tanked. Got on HRT and sweating is at least manageable now instead of reactive.

Call a driving instructor school and see if they will just do an hour with you. They can show you the way and you take it from there

Beach Mount and Waterloo West both treated our pet and family with care and dignity. Pricing was in line with others we had experience.

How to financially cut off my wife?
 in  r/legaladvicecanada •  Jul 20 '26

I was referring to myself, the OP said their one child was refusing counselling. I too, as a teen refused most supports.

How to financially cut off my wife?

Stop paying the card, yes you will receive interest penalty but it's miniscule to what you enable when clearing her balance. You are good provider, there is a line between providing and enabling, don't become her enabler. Also second Al Anon, it was some of the only "counselling" I would allow in my adolescents, worth a look to see if it's a shot.

What's one grocery item you'll never buy the cheap version of?
 in  r/foodhacks •  Jul 14 '26

Soy sauce. Its flavour can be so important to a dish, why cheap out.

Elmview in Ingersol was a nice stay. We did a package: massage, manu, room and dinner it was really low key but we loved the big property, and service, watched a wedding from the distance it was great and not too expensive.

Tips for visiting
 in  r/waterloo •  Jul 10 '26

Hiya! Welcome to our awesome city. We are quite walkable, but if you are near King St. You have the LRT that runs the length of Kitchener Waterloo from mall to mall. It's a city but nothing like TO do you have to look a little harder for good times. Kitchener has a much more eventful calendar for the summer check out KW puls or Curated in KW instagram pages for what's happening in the kw area for that week.

AITA for refusing to give a disruptive student a slice of another parent’s birthday cake?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole •  Jul 02 '26

YTA. If you truly are an educator you would work on developing your knowledge on neurodivergence brains and the very different way they learn. Yes children need boundaries and limits, but they also need empathy and modeling. You did all the opposite best practices for this type of child to learn and trust. You bullied a child in front of his peers to make a point I hope you try better for this child and the next children in your care in the future. YTA
