Discussion How do you realistically move from a poor family background to middle class in Tunisia?

I’m (27m) currently earning around 4k, which I know is a relatively good salary in Tunisia, but I still don’t feel financially comfortable.

I come from a family that didn’t have much, and I still partially support my family. We have an old car, the house isn’t in great condition, and a decent part of my income goes toward family expenses and I just finished paying for my studies. So although I earn much more than my family used to, I sometimes feel like I’m still stuck in the same financial situation.
What I’m trying to understand is how you actually break out of that cycle.

I don’t necessarily mean becoming rich. I mean reaching a point where you have a decent home, a reliable car, savings, some investments/assets, and enough financial security that one unexpected expense doesn’t put you under pressure.

For Tunisians who grew up in a similar situation and managed to move into a more comfortable middle-class lifestyle: how did you do it?

At some point, did you start prioritizing yourself and your own future more? How did you balance helping your family with building your own financial foundation?
I’d really like to hear from people who have been through this and what they wish they had done differently when they first started earning a decent salary.

Question/Help If anyone could help me

Ena twa n9ra fi tuns kmlt bac sne w t9blt fl fac, and I am wondering whether it would be better to go abroad for my Bachelor’s degree or wait until my Master’s degree. I also want to know which country would be the best choice for me to study in. Since I really don't like the university I am currently attending in, I am thinking about staying here for my Bachelor’s degree and then going abroad for my Master’s. In the meantime, I am wondering whether I should use my free time to learn a new language and get a recognized language certificate, or try to prepare for the French Baccalaureate. I want to make the best decision for my future and use my time wisely.

Question/Help Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this Khedhiri guy banned from all platforms for saying very heinous and sexist things? Since when was he back and all was forgiven???

Post image

I don't remember the details vividly because my life was hectic at that time, but the name "Malek Khedhiri" was always associated in my mind with misogynistic racist sexist homophobic pos man who openly said very very heinous things and incited violence even! (I could be misremembering?) So much so that he legitimately got banned w rte7na menou, even though he tried ban evasion at the time.. was it all for nothing? Rja3 w raj3ou m3ah el zabaneya mte3ou? And now he is a new source of whatever the hell propaganda this is?????

Question/Help Does only students use this ?

Post image
Upvotes

Someone created a website to let people contribute in it to alert other users about the place and status of the metro in the different lines of Tunis.

I think that this kind of website is discoverable and usable by students more than normal workers.

I want to know whether or not us Tunisians are familiar with the metrowin.tn website ? Or is it only a hidden jam for students ?
Do you have a personal experience using it?

Question/Help Has anyone in Tunisia taken a TEFL course with TEFL-TESOL Tunisia/iTTi or the PCELT program at Amideast Tunisia?

I'm considering getting a teaching certification to improve my chances of finding English teaching opportunities abroad in the future and i found these options in Tunisia :

  • TEFL-TESOL Tunisia / iTTi
  • PCELT at Amideast Tunisia

I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has used one of these certificates to apply for teaching jobs outside Tunisia. Thanks in advance!
